@blue - no, he isn't born out of wedlock. Madhav married his mother and after her death he married vidya . Armaan is not accepted by Kaveri coz his mother wasn't her choice and she wasn't from affluent family backgrounds.

Vidya once said na madhav left to meet Shivani on their wedding night. Are you sure he married Vidya after Shivani died?

She only said he left on wedding night ..Not said it is for meeting shivani...

As of now it was said that Madhav married Shivani and something happened and they seperated...Her death is questionable ...Abtak it was said it's due to childbirth ...Issileye Armaan ke sar pe woh ilzaam laga rah hai...But there is more in that story as per Rose garden house...
