Yes. And surprisingly they speak english well.. mainly salaar.. his english is so good. I m surprised because in other pak shows like 'mein' 'yunhi' and 'cross roads', i felt the english was bad.

Is Salar ever going to realize his feelings. LOL. Looks like we viewers have to endure a lot more. It would be easier if Salar realized soon enough and Sitara took time to cave in.

I was very confused when Salar said "to hell with her and her relatives". I was like "abhi to tumhe uski bohot fikr ho rahi thi, munh par chabi marne ke bad bhi." Once he said "how dare she", I laughed out loud and everything clicked into place. I had forgotten that this guy is not just jealous and possessive, he is also incredibly territorial. LMAO.smiley37smiley36 I just realised it is the same scenario of "kahin bhi kisike saath bhi muhn uthake chali jaogi" 2.0. From his POV, Sitara is allowing Salman to get too comfortable with her in his absence, just like when she went out with Qasim in Hyderabad or wanted him to drop her home. This fellow really does not like it when Sitara relies on someone else other than him. Especially when it is another male. Salman was really enjoying getting back at Salar. He definitely knows that Salar has feelings for Sitara. But unfortunately for him, he has underestimated the strength of Salar's feelings. I also liked that even Sitara subconsciously knows that Salar will protect her. And Sana is absolutely right about Zohaib. I am not sure about why she dislikes Zohaib so much but she is right on her money about him.

Good episode though. Sitara is so confrontational. I know she is still pretty traumatised and so I am glad Junaid did not take it negatively, rather treated her like an wounded person that she is. He really can cut through the bullshit especially ones that Salman is trying to weave. I wonder why despite everything Sitara still is trying to fix things with her relatives. They are a cesspool of toxic creatures. And go Zoya go! smiley27

Salar is going to be back soon I think. We will get the college scene from the promo where Sitara (yellow dress) snubs him and walks away taking Salman’s hand. Ouch

He will. I wonder what reason he will give for his return to his parents.

I try my best to understand it though. I learnt Hindi at school, we had an option for Urdu and Sanskrit but everyone, even those whose mother tongue was Urdu, used to pick Sanskrit because it was so scoring. But honestly, it has been 12 years since I have really spoken Hindi even though I am still in India right now. You don't really need Hindi or Urdu to get by until and unless you are in the Hindi belt.

Ali Ansari's accent is more Indian-like. Not sure how to explain it but he tends to use a lot more English words which has become increasingly common in urban India. But otherwise it is nice to hear Hindustani (the colloquial Hindi-Urdu) in the show. You can make out that the writers really are from a Urdu-speaking background unlike Indian shows where writers tend to come from all over the country and write in a language that is not their mother tongue. I am not sure how to describe it but the sentence structures or even the expressions used, including verbs, are very Hindi-Urdu belt like. Like it is the proper grammatically constructed sentences that were in our school textbooks.

Although I have to admit that there is a difference even in Urdu from Pakistan and India. I was surprised to hear them use the word yateem because that was the first time I had heard it while Urdu speakers here tend to use the word nawalid for an orphan. I actually had to google its meaning. So, even within Urdu, there are differences.

People are often curious and do indulge in palmistry to know their future. In Dharmic religions, astrological compatibility in matchmaking is a huge thing, so people do take that seriously. However, it is unscientific, so I do not think it should be allowed to rule people's lives.

I googled up Seerat and Zohreh Amir looks so good in it. Like she is styled much better in it. I wonder if Ali Ansari, Zoya Nasir, Zohreh Amir etc work with 7th Sky repeatedly.

I think both Hindi and Urdu are similar. You learned Hindi so you are able to understand Urdu. I learned Hindi from movies, I have many friends here in Yemen from Indian origions .. they help me alot . They know Urdu well. Urdu has lots of Arabic words.. that's why I understand most of the difficult words like : yateem.. because it is an Arabic word. In Hindi they say: lawaris . In Arabic : la means : no . Waris means hier.

Ali lived in Saudi Arabia for sometime when he was young. His sister was born there. I remember in the episode in which he offered to pay for the icecream.. insteed of saying : well, good.. he said : tayyib. I don't remember hearing it in another Pakistani show. We Arabs say : tayyib , when we agree to something .. sometimes we say: tamam.

I think Ali learned in English schools that's why he speaks English really well. But Sikandar's accent is funny. smiley36

I was surprised to see astrology being important in matchmaking. In my culture ppl believe in supernatural matters like : jinn , and some of them do magic to seperate spouses or the opp. It is non Islamic , but it is there. smiley13

Yes. Zohreh lost her charm after marriage. She used to be more stylish, however I didn't like her, coz she can't act. smiley4

Zoya debuted with ARY , but she became a very important vamp in Geo. smiley36 She did a show for Hum. It is Dobaara , one of my most fav dramas.. because it has a middle aged woman getting married to a much younger guy. I could relate to the heroine, coz I am mid age myself.smiley9

Loved to hear your perspective. And I am so impressed that you picked up Hindi/Urdu despite it being a foreign language. smiley27 In Hindi, though, the word for orphan is actually anaath which comes from Sanskrit where is 'a' meaning without and 'naath' meaning lord or protector. Lawaris or nawalid is something I am more familiar with from Bollywood movies rather than actual school textbooks. Seriously though, there are words that I do not even recognise. Like that day, the conversation they had about the moon - Sitara used a word for self-respect or desire, which sounded like "ana" - so I had to check it up since the Hindi word which I am familiar with is abhiman or izzat. This expands my vocabulary though.

Thank you for sharing the info about Ali. Sikandar's accent is more typical of the older generation who didn't have that much access to English language media while growing up. They tend it speak English like that because they literally are translating in their heads while speaking.
