Assimilation of Hyderabad was the most important...although i do wonder what would've happened if Hyderabad was never annexed
The 1999 Kargil War is crucial in Indian history for its demonstration of military strength, strategic operations like Operation Vijay, and the challenges of limited warfare under nuclear conditions. It also highlighted India's diplomatic success in exposing Pakistan's role and securing international support. The war fostered national unity and patriotism, with extensive media coverage bringing the realities of the conflict to the public. Commemorated annually on Kargil Vijay Diwas, the war led to significant military reforms and remains a symbol of India's resolve to protect its sovereignty.

Gopal Mukherjee & Gopal Patha are same, right?
Voted for the first option (Hyderabad Kashmir) but I think Indo china war was also a big turning point. Before that war, I guess, we were seeing the world with rose tinted glasses, panchsheel etc. But that war put the necessity of having a strong army at the forefront of our priorities.
Oh... Just noticed there's a history forum too, now . Congrats 👍
(Though i was always afraid of history during school. Mujh se dates yaad nahi hoti thi 😭)

Having that Nuclear Bomb. It's helping us even today. Imagine the blackmailing we would have got if we were not a Nuclear power.
