Dunno how reliable the info is... opened YT this and found it.

It is indeed weird, especially the part of the elder men of the family and Armaan (whom Rohit hates and currently KV isn't on good terms with) involved in it.

It would make more sense if it was a festival thing where no men are allowed and the latter all enter by dressing up as women in sarees. Would make the sequence more funny and entertaining.

Dunno why writers have to shove Ruhi and her greatness everywhere.
