I'm all for not allowing trans people in women's space but if a biological woman is born with a chromosome deficiency then there's nothing which says she shouldn't be allowed which is what IOC did.
Childhood pics prove whether someone is a male or female? *Slow claps*
We obviously don't have all the facts regarding the athlete. But if someone is born XY DSDs (which it seems in this case), then they are biologically male. That's their genetic makeup.
In a contact sport like boxing what matters is biology, not philosophies, idealogies, feelings, how you dress up or what your family calls you.
The sole point to be considered is whether the athlete has a *male advantage*, otherwise why even have two categories. XY chromosomes, male levels of testosterone and then physiological changes due to those testosterone during puberty give XY DSDs that advantage.
Hence, such participations are not just unfair but also unsafe.
We need more sports based scholarships, to build a stronger base.Itne kam athletes se kaam nahi chalega. This time we were assuming 9-10 medals as our best case scenario. And obviously, best case scenario is hardly ever possible.
We need to start sending bigger contingent across sports, atleast 30-40 medals ka target rakhoge tab toh 15-20 ayenge.

this isn't the first time she's participating in Olympics anyway, she was In Tokyo where she didn't won a medal and got eliminated by a better boxer just like how it happens in sports.Originally posted by: trouble_006

It's just unfortunate that she's diagnosed with hyperandrogenism since birth that elevates her testosterone levels

How does this not being the athlete's first time participating negate anything I've mentioned?
It's an unfortunate condition for the athlete sure, but that doesn't mean the IOC push the onus on other female athletes to accomodate Khelif.
For those who think it's "just" about a female born with higher testosterone levels, this is the difference between the male and women average testosterone levels:
Adult Female - 0.06 to 1.68 nmol/L vs Adult Male - 7.7 to 29.4 nmol/L
Even the best of the best outliers in case of females will fall way short of average male levels.
So just to reiterate: XY chromosomes, male testosterone levels, male puberty which the athlete must have gone through and realised what's going on, failed gender tests - twice. Hard to believe that the athlete didn't realise what was happening. But still the fault lies with the IOC for allowing this and compromising with the safety of athletes in such a high contact sport.
Serena Williams was also accused of being born as a male because she was winning everything
