Considering Kaveri's character, the choice thing just sounds stupid. She has been feeling insecure that most of her family like Abhira more or are in her "team". So putting such a choice will just alienate them more. having her be okay with Abhira as a pretense, and then creating situations that pits her against various family members would be a smarter move.
I don't think that this multiple (single) choice question will be happened in front of all Poddar furniture. It will be like deal thing between KV and AR. And AR then share this with AB and they decide to part ways.

exactly adhya is justified and she is a young kid .. Kaveri has her whole family with her ., if she does not like Armaan’s wife she can ignore her .. and make krish and Aryan’s wife more important in the family hierarchy
