Yeah you're right about the Shlok, similar to what Ramji says about Lakshman.

I understand where you're coming from. Shows why everyone was sad about it.

Sometimes a lot also depends on how they show a person's death. I will cheer because Lakshman kills him and I hope they shed light on why only he could do it. But we know that's where Ravan breaks. Not like he had anyone left. That's the thing which will make you feel bad.. the downfall and end of an entire clan, in a way.

In RS Ramayan they showed how he was scared about sending Meghu to war because he's Lanka's future.. and then Meghu confronts him about his fears. I think this was when he does Nagpaash. Love such conversations.

See that's the beauty of our history

We as listeners and more as viewers when. We see this we connect and feel we r in that era

Rest I think after kumbhakaran death ravan was hesitant to send meghu again as he was Lanka yuvraj

But meghu only convinced him

Rs ramayan portrayed rakshas and human emotions very well

I don't know why I found killing of kumbhakaran bit brutal. Ya he does tell ramji to destroy his body parts but why could ramji not use only one arrow to remove his head..

I haven't watched it yet.

But according to VR he was killed like that only and there was no devotion from Chacha. He faught with all his strength with the Vanara army including Shri Rama.

I like VR for this reason only. Valmiki ji has not made Rama a god by devotion but he earned it with his larger than life character

Very true,,,,, Valmiki's Ramayan is like Nar to Narayan journey where we explore ShriRam as human and reach a feeling of Maryada purshottam ShriRam....

While other versions (though best in their own ways) portrayed ShriRam already as God and they are writing story of their God where they kind of describe Narayan to Nar journey and every incident is like leela of God....

So for better intellectual understanding and learning from characters, storyline, events and their subtext,Valmiki Ramayan is Best,Raw, unbiased and humanly(Just my pov).

Ha ha ananya ur insights about VR version is very knowledgeable.. the whole scene changes the meaning here

But then I don't understand as i hvnt read any books. And mostly popular stories of events from ramayan r told very often

So as VR version is so right why do makers not follow that exactly.

I mean what we see we believe that is not it

Like for chandragupta maurya I don't know the story but liked what I saw and beliebed Aisa hi hoga

Even with dharm yodhha garud. I didn't know the story but liked what I saw again believing Aisa hi hua hoga

Yes same for me too. Sony and its sister channels are not available on cable
