The Jhanak story is testimony to that!!!

Anirudh cannot understand Jhanak’s predicament as her circumstances don’t reflect his lived experience.
but Ani knows instinctively that she has to claim him as her own because that is the only way for a path forward in their relationship… his way is not the most straightforward at this time as he is yet to mature in the relationship; he thinks he can “manage” if she “claims”

Jhanak is battling her inner demons and her morality mores will always keep her tethered and she will outwardly refuse to go down the forbidden path even if her heart wills otherwise

Even if Ani made a declaration now, it won’t serve the story well though it would undoubtedly make us happy…. Jhanak would express her unhappiness at such a situation even if her heart might soar for a brief while.
