Longest time everyone! Been bored of the show of late but got renewed interest with the past two eps. My two cents:

I can’t tell how I feel about this. Ani was finally frank and I appreciated it so much. But now, he is not frank in the direction of breaking up with Arshi, but in the direction of marrying Arshi and having Jhanak as a mistress. It’s gutsy and the entire wrongness and immorality of it is actually gripping. I find myself shocked and wondering what his plans are. I thought he meant to put her in a seperate apartment but he’s taking her home. It reminds me of a Korean manhwa I read where the female lead’s father didn’t love her because she was the daughter of his wife. He was actually trying to kick her out of the company because he wanted his child from his ‘true love affair’ with his mistress to inherit the company. I’m getting that vibe over again. Is Ani going to be like that female lead’s father? Arshi is the wife and Jhanak is the ‘true love mistress’? I find myself interested in whether makers have decided to turn him into a man bedazzled into darkness by passion. It’s not too strange given that Ani is a man who is overly hypocritical to the point he could say he had no desires while finding ways to keep her with him. Now the mask has been torn off and Ani is just showing his real self. It’s dirty, it’s filthy, and it’s refreshing how he is no more trying to act like he is honest when he is the total opposite. However, we never know how many scruples the real Ani has…. In addition, I wonder if Jhanak would finally succumb to his intensity only to keep second guessing her whole life? Would she at one point back out and demand she deserves better? What’s going to be the arrangement with Arshi that ani is going to make? Look the other way to the affair and our kid would be my heir? Or outright blackmail her to ignore his actions? Or is it the other way and the affair would be hidden from everyone…the forbidden fruit is sweeter sort of thing? Or would makers decide that such moral upturn is too heavy for ITV and decide that Ani would break things with Arshi and announce Jhanak? But Ani doesn’t seem like he has that intent. It’s rather like he wants to be the sort of guy that goes to parties with Arshi but spends all birthdays with Jhanak. I’m excited about the characters’ future actions now but that would have paid off more if makers were good writers. But they aren’t and so this buildup would probably be wasted soon enough. We’ll see.

My interpretation of Ani’s dream:

I didn’t think what we saw in that dream was a manifestation of the standard married life for them. Far from it. Perhaps, it was because of the sequence of how things were shown…from him asking she stay by his side forever to having that dream. I interpreted that scene differently. I thought in that scene, he was imagining he and Jhanak when she accepts to be his lover/mistress….the scenes were hyper focused on Ani wooing/saying sweet things to Jhanak, so it seemed like a confirmation of his plans for her. Because there is no other way to interpret it. Ani isn’t saying no to marrying Arshi or denying that his request to Jhanak is too much, but he doesn’t care for decorum anymore. When she asked what society would say, he didn’t care and insisted, because he knows what he is proposing is scandalous. He even went ahead to say they could be in the same city even if she doesn’t come to the house. That’s the same as saying he can furnish an apartment for her as a rendezvous. Unless future episodes say otherwise, Ani doesn’t mind marrying Arshi as long as he can have Jhanak in some capacity. And it feels like he is not beyond using the marriage as leverage to force Arshi not to mind his affair. The genre is getting darker.

I try not to get excited because makers are bad writers….but what if Jhanak’s biggest obstacle (I’m getting deja vu of my earlier expectations) is not Arshi or Boses, but Ani? How much of an obstacle would it be to a successful career than being a mistress, even if it’s a beloved one? How much darker would the genre get, How much more wretched would Ani get when the woman he has successfully wooed internally and coerced other externally to keep by his side is getting more popular? Would Ani really be able to say he sincerely wants to push her out there? Won’t he rather try to sabotage her? Would Arshi, who is wife but in all real ways, isn’t for Ani, not try to manipulate Ani into being overly jealous and sabotage Jhanak’s career by himself? Because as far as I can tell, Ani is shallow and self absorbed to the point that he is the type of person that would marry Arshi and keep Jhanak if Arshi schemes into saying she has no feelings for him anymore and makes up some lie about ‘wanting to protect Jhanak’? Or have a fake wedding with Arshi (with her knowledge) and trick society that it’s real? I can see Arshi saying it’s for her and family honor and to protect Jhanak from

Scorn and she will pretend to divorce him in a while, so he can marry Jhanak because now people will say Jhanak stole her cousin’s fiancée..I can see Ani falling for that trap and thinking he can still have Jhanak, and when he ‘divorces’ Arshi, he can marry her after some time to make it look like he just fell in love again post divorce, and he agreeing with Arshi not to tell Jhanak that she is not really a mistress, but that Arshi isn’t his wife at all, so she doesn’t give it away and for her own good (deja vu of her moms letter)…..wow, I’m way too creative for my hood when it comes to ITV because 99% of my amazing plots never happen 😭

Omg Paula, Anirudh wants to keep Jhanak as a mistress .

That is the worst and disgusting thing to be read about Anirudh after watching him for a long time now . That is such a contradiction to what was shown about him by the makers atleast for me.

I am infact suprised by the word " mistress "

He might have not saved her from all the insults his family did to her .But at any point he didnt have any physical advancements towards her .They were most of the time few yards apart. Even when she came into his room for final good bye and gifted him the ring , he didnt even hug her . He was more emotionally torn at that time when she was leaving him forever. Then from when and where did he ever show that he wanted her as a mistress .

The talk about Arshi is to convience Jhanak to come with him to kolkata . Because he knows Jhanak wont give in to his demand or condition as she always keeps Arshi ahead of Jhanak .

I am sure he will have plans to address Arshi , taking it forward . Its not that he doesnt want to break with her . She makes it impossible for him most of the time , with her I dont want to come in between you and Arshi .

He did say he will rent her a home , would that be more immoral , than taking her to his home where his family lives.

How is Anirudh dirty and filthy ?

Didnt he at many times prove that Jhanak was important to him than anyone. From the holi hospital to publicly standing for her and a recent , how would you remove Jhanak from conscience by making me remove the ring more than enough for any women to understand that Anirudh has valued Jhanak more than her , who treats him as a slave or robot.

He is dishonest , how when he asked Arshi directly , would you cancel the marriage ? Or if you want to cancel the marriage ,I respect your opinion .Now isn't that honesty .

Arshi who spoke to Jhanak that I know Anirudh is not fully mine , wants to get married to him.

Why ? Because of the time she invested in the relation, or because she cant lose to Jhanak , what love is that , what honesty is that , what self respect is that . Is it selfless love or selfish love or just satisfaction of torturing Anirudh when he doesnt love her . What and who is Arshi ? His friend , lover , gf , or enemy ???

Why should she keep blaming Anirudh ? Being an educated successful women of her age , why cant she take a stand for herself .Why wait for the man to break the marriage .She can do it herself and keep her head high .

Why is she being egoistic and spoiling the life of a person who she know for years .Cant she be his good friend and help him . Why always Anirudh ?

All ready the entire social circle and neighbours know about Anirudh and Jhanka's married , all thanks to Tejas for exposing it in a party and then a marriage with Jhanak in Kolkata . In Kashmir Anirudh is Jhanak's husband .

Snatching Anirudh from Arshi is out of question .

For the dream part a lot of it has been discussed and for me its not blackmail from Anirudh .If so why did Jhanak fall for it .She was strong enough to blabber and blame him for all the good things he did to her and now why was she quiet .She could strongly disagreed I wont return to Kolkata . Now she is In Kashmir , she has police protection.Why did she agree .Nobody has caged her .

I think its too much to think about Anirudh's heir aat this point .He might have not disclosed his plans with Jhanak as she might spoil it with her honesty addiction and sacrificial nature .But he surely might have plans and I reserve it until the episodes get aired .

A strong disagreement by me on Anirudh's character being degraded to a womaniser !!

Even i strongly feel he has definetely some plans under his sleeve, which he is not disclosing. Arshi don't deserve any respect, even if Ani leaves her at mandap i won't feel bad for her. In today episode he was quite vocal about what he felt for last night and the moments were special for him. He is trying to gauge her reactions and as of now his first priority is to take her to kolkata so that he can buy some time to make her confess. His promises are not the promises which anyone give it to a mistress and also he took promise from her bcoz whatever decision he takes - like breaking up with Arshi, he wants her to support in this.

i agree Maya. Ani wanted to sacrifice his love because he thought J would be happier with Rahul.

When he says I want you to be with me is basically asking for emotional support and her being in touch even if she isnt physically with him. He isn’t demanding for love but expressing his love because finally he realised Jhanak doesn’t love anyone and he wasted so much time thinking the opposite. He was vulnerable, frankly half out of his mind and had Jhanak said No firmly i believe he would’ve stopped.
Jhanak herself said she doesn’t love him and pushes him to Ani now. So rather than imposing his love on her he is doing what she wants from him that is to go through the so called promise with Arshi in exchange of her being safe n sound somewhere he can see.

you see we often project our expectations that the leads would be ideal beings who would do no wrong but they are flawed. Greatly.

I believe and hope maker’s wont butcher Ani as he is the USP of the show
