Yes all are just speculations. The wedding can be ending too where Wahaj's character unites Maya and Usama and then have his own happy ending with Hira.

KRQ doesn't believe in one sided love as far as I know.

I don't think anybody is jumping to conclusions, everyone is speculating and making assumptions just like you stated one of the assumptions.

Since nobody knows the story, at this point everyone is speculating only about different possibilities.

Another speculation, she goes ahead with the wedding only to realize Usama's character is toxic, marriage gets annulled & Maya - Wahaj re-unite ......Or they go the devdas way, Wahaj dies and so does Maya

Literally anything is possible at this point

In devdas ,paro doesn't die at the end..

If it's anything along the lines of devdas, wahaj will get ample opportunities to perform..

But the look of it, his character seems to be more intriguing compared to everyone else..

If it goes to toxic marriage trope, it could be like the story of Saraswathi Chandra m talking about the novel not the show..( which again is a tragedy). I hope they don't make it so miserable like those bhansali scripts..

In the movie Devdas, it was left very open ended & upto audience's perspective if she died or not..In the novel, she didn't die.

Story could be anything for all we know...Devdas, KANK, Saraswati Chandra etc etc

Someone wrote this on Reddit

I read an interview of KRQ somewhere, and he said it's based on real-life story. Basically, the SMD plot is rags to riches. The hero was always in love with the girl, but she friend zoned him because he was not good enough for her. But once he becomes filthy rich, she realizes her love for him. he could match up to her standards. while in real life, he became a superstar overnight.

Based on KRQ’s previous writings, this might be true. He loves showing women as villains.
