In the first pic it looks like he is blowing out his stomach to make it look bigger, I dont think kartiks stomach was ever that big, it would have been very obvious if it was, kartik has always looked skinny

He was a wrestler in his youth and then became a talented boxer in the army, so it's understandable that he had a different body before getting wounded and after that.

With no mastering of his legs he had to work on his upper body to get the needed strength for swimming and javelin throw.

Neither picture looks 100% authentic. First one he’s definitely pushing out his gut, or it’s photoshop. He might have had a small paunch but this gut in this picture would have been very obvious in a regular shirt or T-shirt. Second picture looks airbrushed. Again, I’m sure he developed abs and a 6 pack for role but they still airbrushed his abs to make it look poster perfect.
