Do you think the pain these people go through during surgery is worth the looks obtained?
Some of these surgeries look very painful, I don't know if I would be willing to go through it even for looks.
What do you guys think?

But do we as man kind get soo caught up with looks that gain becomes an obsession? What about pain then? People these days go under the knife to look like the "15 year old model in some 'HOT' magazine." Is this all necessary? You can understand those people with facial deformities. If you aren't strong enough then you have to put up with the looks you have..
...then again it disappoints me to say that these people want to look normal. There is a saying:
"You laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same."
I was watching this program once where a woman had grown a moustache and walked with pride down the streets. When asked doesn't she want to look normal she said, "what is normal?" Why does society have to stare at people who are different. When you get hurt, you burn yourself. That is a part of your personal experience. Do we get skin grafts to clear it - no. Then why faces. I just think there is too much ethics in all of this. However, you raised a very important point.
Well philosophically everyone says that looks is not important and u shouldnt concentrate much on it and look at the heart of the person. But how many ppl in our country does that? Even now, in our country being dark complexion is looked down upon (which is not the case with western countries). Then just imagine about facial deformities. If we look normal, it will be difficult for us to understand what the people with facial deformities go through, as in their case it is something they have suffered since the time they were born. So they have lived with it all their life and suffered lot of things cos of it - like in childhood ur classmates and friends making fun of u, not able to take up a career of choice due to lack of confidence and problems in looking at people's face and talking, when u become young and marriagable age, ppl rejecting to marry you cos they think u look 'ugly'...after going through such various experiences, and beginning to get used to it, when suddenly someone tells u that 'not only can u look normal, but also pretty', something they have never experienced their entire life, i think it is something that a person who has suffered so much will jump for. Just imagine, the insult and the pain that person suffered for soo many years since birth will be completely gone, and he/she will reach a totally new level of self-confidence...If suffering some amount of pain for few days can undo the sufferings of soo many years and promise a great career and marriage (2 most important things in life), then it might be worth it 😉 ...
And besides, its just a pain of few days, like if you cut ur hand or leg by mistake or fracture urself, you go through operations, stiches, etc and suffer the entire process. There is no other alternative in such cases, but in this case the feeling that after going through this pain, i will turn beautiful itself reduces the pain and keeps them motivated 😊 . Just try to see from the eyes of those ppl, u will understand that this pain of few days is nothing in front of life time of confidence and happiness 😉 .
@magnificent me : You've made a strong point there..
But I also wonder sometimes.. These people that go ahead with such surgeries.. Isnt it agaist religion to do so? Going againtst the way god has made you? They say they're religious and they have full faith in God.. Then why would they want to destroy something that the creator has made by changing it?
