No one in my entire being-alive-hood I have seen going to jail for this, until recently when they started putting Muslims in Jail for similar crimes that Hindus (and lower caste Hindus in specific) have been doing all along.

Btw I am from Bengal, BJP tried their 'Don't eat fish, don't eat mutton' things here and this is how they've been put in places for last 2-3 elections. We have such BAD CM here already, but thanks to Godi Media for projecting a WORSE party as the major opposition in Bengal that now many people vote for the Tyrant Lady out of fear of watching BJP coming to the power here. This way we will never get rid of Bengal CM a anyways, neither BJP will be able to foot steps here. Bongs are doomed.

True limiting financial conditions or lack of monetary resources force people to wed their girls early, but in Muslim communities it becomes a ritual and riwaaith, ppl who doesn't agree becomes the outcasts. My only Muslim neighbours daughter eloped and married a Hindu guy changed her name, she was very happy with her husband and in-laws but the poor girl was never allowed back into her parents family because they're scared to face the ire of their ilk. Having UCC can remove these kind of compulsive social evils prevalent across communities.

Actually I am curious why do you even THINK that it's allowed in a specific community ? I belong to Hindu community (although I am areligious and athiest, but my family history aint so). And around me I see under-privileged communities marrying off their girl children left right and centre when they turn 12/13/14. Doesn't matter which religion or community they belong to. I have read books and watched documentaries on the same from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh.

I see a common factor of economic background and lack of education there, NOT community.
