Yeah becoz to get advertisements there is a benchmark set by companies..

That is of 2.5 for 8-10:00 irrespective of whether show in top 5 or at top..

To get promos which are source of income for channel,this trp is necessary so if they are not achieving it,channel.is not earning enough money becoz pricey brands are not giving adveritsements...

And right now with ott,this trp acievement is IMPOSSIBLE so we can safely say tv industry is in regression and very quickly all these tv shows would shut down or either quality would get very poor...

So either BARC had to come with upgrade system to calculate trps or crores of people working in tv industry from spot dadas to big producers would go workless within a very short span of few years as handicraft people did....

they are in primeslot expectation will be really high. 2.5+ expectation hoga as if they move jhanak to 09:30 it may perform better.

With cost cutting why don't they try cringe and third class story cutting??

Every other show is running on same concept with dumb or toxic leads and poor screenplay.

I think except for 1 show all other sitara shows are same.

I miss the era where sitara gave iconic shows that too on different genre to which none of the other show/channel can match even current sitara cannot.

I am not a Ghum viewer so dont know much about the characters or storyline, but letting go of Shakti is definitely a choice. I have seen him in multiple shows over the years and he is certainly a good actor, especially by current itv standards. Maybe he was too pricey, and SP really seems to be in a cost cutting mode.

However, while I hate the regressive dumb shit of itv shows, I don't see any new ones faring better than ghum, rishta or anupama in terms of trps. With increasing digitalization trps are bound to go down. I barely know people who watch TV for something else other than news or sports.

ghum demise was decided when they decided to bring third angle in sumit singh, girl can't act to save her life, the ph could have chosen the easy route get her out entirely and revive the show but no they degraded shakti ml character to no return like what they are doing with armaan sadly and a professor student relationship was never going to set sail so now channel decided to hell with this show and taking drastic decisions to take it down to give the slot to shahi or other producers.

Even Gul was given enough time to pull back trp, but nothing worked... And i think parting was not good... Sp new show was not ready, but i read somewhere gul might have refused to extend to cover.. Due to which ghum ended up with 45 mins episodes
