A lthough it is her big claim to fame, Shilpa Shinde wants out. She is weary of enacting the role of Soni in the popular serial Maayka. In fact, Maayka earned her much more popularity than her roles in Bhabhi, Kabhi Aaye Na Judai, San- javeeni, Naqaab, Miss. India and Amrapali. Yet, she is determined to quit the serial in June when her contract expires. She feels she has reached stagnation point. Without hemming or hawing, Shinde states, "I know Maayka is a hit serial. But I don't want to get typecast like Prerna, Tulsi and Par- vati. I want to quit while the serial is still popular.. so that I'm remem- bered as a heroine of a hit rather than a boring flop. Like it or not, a serial becomes one big yawn when it is stretched beyond a point. Enough is enough." Shinde doesn't understand the log- ic behind the killing of Veer (Vineet) just when the Veer and Soni pair was attracting high TRPs. No more negative vibes But there are some TV insiders who inform that Shinde is close to Vineet and didn't like his exit from the serial. After doing a negative role in Bhabhi, Shilpa has been inevitably swamped with vampish offers. Now, as inevitably she wants a change of image: "Since I refused to repeat neg- ative characters after Bhabhi, I lost out on many opportunities to act in serials. That's why I chose to be off television for a while. Believe me, I don't want to be typecast in any role - negative or positive."

thanks 4 sharing....

I really loved Shilpa's acting in Bhabhi show.. When she entered in Bhabhi, her role was really nice.. She was consired Saroj as her elder sister.. I loved Saroj-Manju chemistry.. 😳 later she became negative to get Tilak... but I liked Shilpa's negative role as Manju too..

Shilpa dunn leave the show...

Well she didn't do much talking other than crying all the time. I wish they would bring back the old soni she was full of energy and she would put Durga in her place.
