She seems to be one that has never been challenged/refuted by anyone and Amu had few times gave her befitting replies while getting into good books with her son. Amu being a middle class girl adds to the fuel.

She tries everything to get rid of Amu but fails, it's making her lose her mind and like I said before, she is narcissistic to the core, she will do anything to have Virat for herself and satisfy her bruised ego by successfully get rid of Amu. In her obsessed attempt to target Amu, she loses her focus and hits Virat as well.

Atleast keep consistency in character he was showed little sentiment towards that ring and now he is proposing with same ring.

We have to assume according to scene given whether he has moved on or not.

And if u notice he always says she likes him rather then saying he likes her.

Seems like it. Babita has been quite impulsive in what she does - immediate gratification rather than a well thought out long term plan.

Hmm... Virat's dialogue in the car about the ring and Babita ... "Mom ko jaanti ho na... ungli katke ring nikal deti' did feel odd - Babita has never been shown 'stingy' - and stinginess is the only pov I could think about that time. Now the ring is in Ammu's finger - hope a temp thing... and new one will be around for engagement. But if possible Babs would love to do that - 'ungli kaatke ring nikal degi' for a different reason.
