Can Deepika or Bahurani do a Gangubai role like Alia?

Alia was amazing and lived the role of Gangubai in SLB’s film. I don’t see Deepika or Bahurani doing this kind of role because they lack the acting skill. What do you think? 🤔

Yes = of course could Deepika do a Gangubai role and of course could Aish have done (some time ago) a Gangubai role.

No = definitely not like Alia, though...

Bhansali gave Deepika two shots to shine after Ram-Leela, but both times she missed the mark. Luckily, there were other talented actors in the movie who could carry the weight. He couldn't risk it with Gangubai, though, because the whole film relied heavily on Gangubai's shoulders; the supporting cast didn't matter as much. With her career taking a hit since Chhapaak, there's no chance Bhansali will cast her again.

Deepika was the first choice for Gangubai and dp rejected the film. Dp gave 3 back to back hits after slb previous movies was back to back flops. SLB also offered dp baiju bawra, dp wanted to get paid more than what slb was offering and slb did not pay more for bb movie so she rejected the film. Everyone will be shocked to know dp was chosen for saawariya but after sonam was finalized, replaced in the movie so dp was lucky to get oso debut instead of that flop rk movie debut.
