The way he behaved shows he thinks he has some superior complex for caring for Abhira as a majburi and thinks of himself as mahaan and is victimizing himself and thinks Abhira is his charity case. That makes him insufferable.

Yes but by the time he realizes if he screws up too much and becomes egotistical enough to not even repent, then nothing can be done. He needs to realize charu matter mein Abhira neh kuch nahi kiya very soon and start missing her, regretting what he said in reference to her zimmedari in a way that made her feel humiliated and as a bojh. Exactly. I get that ruhi is important to the story, but including her in scenes unnecessarily is very annoying. I didn't mind Armaan not standing up to dadisa or defending Abhira, cause he has always been spineless when it comes to his family and was angry at abhira. However, instead of that rumaal scene, they could have shown armaan entering his room, seeing abira's stuff gone, and the realization hitting him that she won't there anymore. A monologue about his frustation and concern for Abhira would have gone very well with that stapler scene... But no. They just had to include ruhi in it.
