Yes, they wanted a new character in Khushi's life, and she was supposed to be pregnant, and ASR was supposed to die in an accident while saving Khushi, something like that.

Actors are supposed to work together, and we have seen many actors working with the same co-stars in several projects, yet we are unable to see these two together, which creates another level of curiosity: why not? It is their profession.
