I have never watched a K-drama before but always had it at the back of mind to give them a try. There's so many so I'm not sure where to start. Which ones would you guys recommend for a newbie? I'm not too picky with genres although i will have to admit romcoms have more of my interest.

I mostly only enjoy European dramas amongst non English language shows..(apart from PTV)

I watch literally anything that grabs my interest and don't really care about the country of origin .

I like the emotional aspect of Korean dramas and movies. That's more relatable to me than western shows. There are kmovies and dramas which made me cry buckets . Don't remember many western shows that does it for me even though there have been American series I have been totally invested in.

The on going drama lovely runner is good for starters. It's only on ep 4 as of now.

Then there are the popular ones like strong woman do bong soon, crash landing on you, goblin, home town cha cha cha, what's wrong with my secretary etc.

If you like cute fluffy high school or college romance then watch extraordinary you, true beauty, weightlifting fairy Kim book Jo.

Starting with cute fluffy ones will be better. Thrillers and melodramas might be too heavy.

I have soft spot for Park shin hye since You are beautiful was my first ever k-drama and I still love it

Start watching again. There are some really good ones recently

There are few actors who I stay far away from and shin Hye in on the top.

Why did they cast her and Hyungsik together in Dr. Slump?

I tried to restart Dr. Slump but again couldn't even finish the first episode. Can you spoil me what happens to hyungsik's character. I saw him loosing everything because of the accidental death. It looked like someone set him up.

For me it is.

The villains and too much going on made me put queen of tears on hold but I am completely into lovely runner. It's less complicated and till now don't have a single annoying or super villainize character
