Why is Anupama referred to as Upma?

I see Anupama being referred to as Upma in many of the posts. Why Upma? Sounds like a slur. Upma is a South Indian dish and Anupama is not South Indian so wondering what the correlation is. Just curious.

Even I am wondering for so many days why anupama is refer as Upma

Waise Upma ka doosra Matlab hota hai comparison but still her name is anupama not Upma so don't understand reason why she is called as Upma when her name is anupama

So who is Upma in anupama serial I don't know because Upma naam ka character serial mein Hai hi nahi
