It is definitely not selfish. There are hardly any desi directors or actors winning big. High time desi stories set in India are taken to world stage by desis themselves. None of that Slumdog-millionaire-poverty-porn fetishism.

I mean even the "Indian" movies that do get hyped in the international market are shrouded in neo-orientalism shit. Post-modernism has been co-opted by the worst sort of people.
