I don't think they are higher/upper middle class, they are certainly rich people, both Anirudha and Subho earn millions of Rupees every month (they are top class working professionals), have a bunglow, multiple cars.

But ya they are not super like unlike Mukherjees and also even though they are highly respected people in the society but not famous unlike Mukherjees hence they are desperate to climb up the ladder.

On a side note- both of them are petty and lack moral values.
