Aaah yes!
Ok so Akshara had a high risk twin pregnancy (first trimester) and her doctor husband Abhimanyu (played by the oh so awesome harshad chopda, main reason why people are still invested in this character even after it ended) will tell her to stay put and please not risk anything when he leaves her to attend to important work. She will promise him she will be cautious and take care of herself and their unborn babies, and he will begrudgingly leave.
Madame will get a call and will ask her brother in law to accompany her - together they will try to save young girls who are about to be kidnapped ( a very noble deed yes, but given her circumstances, why do this heropanti without involving the police). In the tussle the goons will kill her brother in law and she will end up losing the babies (or so she thought).
The brother in law was like Abhi's own baccha - they shared a very deep bond ( he was actually Abhi's dad's illegitimate child who was abandoned and abhi as a kid pleaded with his mom to bring him home)
In that shock and trauma, when Neil's (Abhi's brother) body arrives and everyone is wallowing in that trauma, Abhi will get very angry, will yell at Akshara, ask her what was the need to go out knowing she had a high risk pregnancy and then proceed to throw her out of the house, blaming her for all the murders.
Everyone was wearing white in this scene ; so infamously came.to be known as "white day"
Up until this everyone including myself sympathised with Akshara and thought Abhi was very wrong in doing this - but then this woman, despite having her Mayka in the same city, will get on a bus to go somewhere, and meet the Acha aadmi in the bus. Then find out one of her twins survived, lives with the Accha aadmi, hides the baby surviving from Abhi (again she will call but Abhi's mom will be critical in the hospital and the bloody Accha aadmi instead of telling him directly that his child is alive start talking in circles, asking him what he would do if his child was Alice - you joker what a question to ask a man who is mourning his brother, his babies and is worried about almost losing his mom. abhi will lose his shit and tell her not to call him again - again here, I couldn't really blame Akshu but fully blame the idiot Acha aadmi).
Has the baby, asks the Acha aadmi she met on the bloody bus "Aap mere baby key father ji banenge" and proceeds to commit paternity fraud, trying to wipe out Abhi's existence from his sons life! Son gets very ill (heart problem) needs cardiac surgeon husband to operate - yells at him that he isn't taking proper care as a doctor and asks him what would you do if it was your son, when in reality it was HIS son and he has been mourning the kids death for 6 years!
Tells AA that before him she didn't know to do anything (she was a freaking music therapist before, a successful singer)
Goes on to rustle up the sheets with acha aadmi hubby as her family has repeatedly been telling her how dry he has been and she isn't nibhaoing patni dharm.
When said hubby died turned back to Abhi and was ready to marry him.
So yeah, a hell a lot of shit show - and I lost even an ounce of love I had for the character of Akshara after all this khaand!
But Abhi until the very end loved only one woman!
The main culprit was the misogynistic writers who basically in one of the episodes laid credit for surviving a traumatic labour at Acha aadmis feet and it had disturbing dialogues like before you entered my life I was nothing. Today my baby is Alice only because of him - yeah you paagal aurat she pushed the baby out his v***na! 🙄🙄🙄 He was bloody holding a preemie for 4 days (medical science crying in a corner). Bull shit!
I know you didn't ask for such a long story probably and that was completely me nikaaloing all my bhadaas and PTSD on the shit show Rishta became after they brought in Acha aadmi. And the injustice to Abhi all through.
As you can see, Abhi is right up there in my list of all time favourite ITV characters.
I am suspiciously seeing the same track In TMD. AA is currently the father of Sahiba's baby and is a psycho. Same hospital scene too lol...
Thank goodness, Pranali was too much of a turn off for me that even Harshad couldn't tempt me into watching the shitshow
Bepanah was atleast better lol

omg Harshad looks super duper handsome in this series
