This needs to be normalised - if actors are comfortable then there shouldn’t be an issue. Audience is so used to seeing toxic and problematic relationships that simple halal affection is triggering for them somehow lol - this definitely needs to be the other way around

mor mahal was another expensive period tv show that came right before aangan and was a flop too.

Period drama need huge budgets (even indoor ones) but there's no guarantee of success. I am guessing two back to back failures of such expensive shows probably put producers off period drama.

I would think producers are making tonnes more today than they ever did before thanks to other platforms of promoting their products. They can totally do it and with good marketing a period drama can sell. People are suckers for old school stories and romance. Put in a few big names and it’s a done deal.

Jahan pe itne trashy shows ka risk lete hain wahan what’s one more risk? Look at Kashif Nisar. Most of his dramas are ensemble cast with an old world vibe. Jeevan Nagar, Stand up Girl recently and even Kabli pullao to an extent had a good number of actors. So it can be done. You don’t have to go all out like JBG did with the battle scenes n all.

It’s such a rich genre and it’s a shame there’s so little in PTV to contribute to it. Especially since gems like Dastaan and JBG exist.

Definitely. Nice actor as well. I watched him first in Betiyan in which he was opp Mahnoor.. Liked him. Then in Khaie to he was outstanding. Definitely can pull off different roles
