But I've to admit I read it as Karishma vs Kareena too but read the original post, didn’t skip it :)

If it makes you feel better, I thought the same and came to this thread to post about why we need another of this topic when we get it weekly.

It’s pronounced Karizma like the English word charisma. Babita named both the girls. In fact, Raj Kapoor wanted to name Kareena Siddhima to rhyme it with Riddhima, Ranbir’s sister. But Babita put her foot down and stuck with Kareena (named after Ana Karenina). It’s another matter altogether that Bollywood audience including her own sister apparently have been misnaming her all these years.

Couldn’t find an interview from early 90s but here is an interview done 24 years ago, from the year 2000 where Karan Thapar correctly introduces Lolo as Karisma with the Z sound.
