I love how Wahaj molds his physique and facial hair according to the roles. And whatever else he can do. That kajal as Rumi. But less said about the horrible wig, the better 😂 but anyway the effort was there.
The beard dyes and haircuts for Zaid. I know a lot of people didn’t dig it but I thought it made him look so much younger, which was the point. He did look different than Murtasim and Junaid who was on screen at the same time. And the entirely disheveled “I don’t care about style” average joe look for Saad, his least attractive visually character imo. I mean visually the difference between Murtasim and Saad was so glaring, I loved it.
His effort might not have been that obvious in Mein for a lot of people, but for me i could really tell the difference. It just didn’t pay off as much as his other shows because he got overstyled by Ayeza/Shahzad 😂
Agreed, and I didn’t find anything wrong with his styling in Mein even though many did. His work clothes were professional but his clothes were mostly boring which made sense for Zaid. His sister even called him boring, in fact they tried to emphasize it. He was drawn to the simplicity of Ayra. He was different this way than MJ and his father. For those two, status meant everything so their appearance reflected that. I think at one point, after an argument, Zaid even pointed out that his dad looks great as usual. The way his father stripped away his tie and jacket at the end showed how his father put so much importance on appearance throughout but later realized that it means nothing. Zaid never placed the same importance on status and appearance so I felt his look was suitable but everyone just wanted a hot Murtasim again. It didn’t make sense for his character. I agree with you that the young styling worked. It emphasized the power imbalance between himself and his father. I think it was intentional on Wahaj’s part but without proper focus and getting his POV, maybe it didn’t translate well on screen. Is the rumour that Maya wasn’t supposed to be doing this drama and she wasn’t the first choice true? Apparently Yumna was supposed to do it as the producers offered her and Wahaj the script over a year ago as they were supposed to be doing a winter project. After Yumna couldn’t do it the director got Maya in it since 7th sky never worked with Maya before only Haseeb did.

This seems more plausible than the theory that Tere Bin 2 was supposed to be shot back to back with Tere Bin and SMD ko zabardasti beech mai dala.
Shooting TB2 before Eid 2024 was never possible to begin with.
Clearly, given everyone else's prior commitments that predated Kadwani's brain wave to make TB2, it wouldn't have been able to shoot TB2 until after Eid. I have been saying this for months. Back in end Dec, Bushra Ansari even said that the script is still being written and she hasn't been approached. Haseeb is also not the kind of director jo koi zabardasti ka drama direct karde on such short notice because the producer wants to. He said he did not do anything for 1 year after Alif and Diyar-e-Dil because koi script nahi acha mil raha tha.
It is more plausible that SMD was the winter project that Marie baji teased very early on - jab shayad TB2 ka plan bhi nahi tha. It is believable that they wanted Yumhaj to do it. Nayab promotions may have prevented Yumna from accepting or maybe she did not want to do back to back projects with just one hero (SMD AND TB2) or maybe some other reason. I dunno.
Maya hasn't worked with 7th Sky but yes she has worked with Haseeb. I just want to add that Maya does not need Wahaj to get a drama. Maya was an A lister long before and is still one. She has done 3 dramas with Haseeb before. JBG was on Geo so she has a link there too. She is capable of being considered for this on her own merits and connections. My preference was to have Kubra instead of Maya but l don't mind Maya either at all.
P.S. I am just miffed at this new conspiracy theory (being passed off as truth) on X since yesterday ke SMD koi zabardasti ka project hai jisko TB1 or TB2 ke beech mai Kaddu or Wahaj ne zabardasti ghusseda (to leech off TB fame apparently) and it is because of SMD, why TB2 is still not shooting yet. Ab kuch nahi mila toh SMD ko undermine karne ka yeh nahi nuskha hai.
I feel like there’s a hate campaign surrounding SMD with odd conspiracy theories floating about. I’ve heard the one where this was supposed to have Yumna but Wahaj got her kicked off so he can get Maya in the role instead.
I know some of these people are extreme Yumna fans that like to victimize her but frankly I feel like it’s demeaning her. What are they trying to say? That she doesn’t have the same bargaining power as Wahaj? Why wouldn’t she? Also why would she continue to work on campaigns with Wahaj if this was the case. Give the girl more credit than this. She has her self respect and she is valued by the producers. They need her on board for TB2 as well. No way they would disrespect her like this. If she was approached for this initially, she must have her own reasons to decline it. Of course this is disrespectful to Maya as well since she is more than capable of bagging a role on her own.
Waah! Kya conspiracy theories hain. Even I am a TB viewer and I will watch TB2 as well. But these kind of theories surprise me every time. Why do people think that actresses need Wahaj to get projects now (I toh don't even care about Maya but still find this so stupid). Also why do they think, Wahaj would force a project in between for fame and use TB? Bhai TB Wahaj ka hi project tha. Even if he is using it, he can..
