They generally avoid giving these kind of cases to family members when the case is on their own family. Ab and Ar are not fighting for a thirdparty. Ab is fighting against her own family. Had Dev known, he wouldn't have even given her the case. Mostly he didn't give the case to Charu for the very same reason. Coz she is daughter of the house and her loyalty and attachment will always lie with Poddars.

I don't think Charu would have taken the case though. She is too scared to do that.

Hypothetically speaking, if Abhira were to file a defamation suit against Armaan for calling her a thief, he would lose badly. While Abhira definitely erred ethically and professionally by reading his file, that is not enough basis for him to make an accusation of theft. Even if the point had been brought up in court later by Dev, she could have been accused of sharing information by deceit and that might have been sufficient to strike it down. However accusing her of stealing is definitely low knowing the person she is. All of this is logical though and sadly, ITV operates on its own logic that is far removed from that of the real world.

Last time I checked, Abhira was a human being. Bagwan ban gayi kya, that she cannot make any mistake. She's taking baby steps into the real courtroom drama. Of course, she'll make mistakes and then learn from them. Abhira always had a bit of impulsive streak. But the good thing is, she learns from her mistakes when guided properly.
