There is a phenomenon in society when someone dies, especially untimely young death, we give them elite status. We forget that they were also humans with all their good and bad.
just like SSR, Divya bharti is also given this elite status. We dont know what would have happened if she was alive. May be she could have become no1 actress, but also she could have retired early like Bhagyashree or ended up with average career like shilpa or Raveena. This is a cut throat industry, not everyone is meant to survive.
Very true. Loag marnay kay baad hee humari qadr kartay hain.
Having said that, Divya actually had a very promising career, but not to the extent which people make it out to be.
You are right, most probably she would have retired after a few years as she was already married and in 90s when a marriage is revealed that used to be pretty much the end of a heroine's career back then.
Raveena's example is excellent here....she was at no 02 spot only after Madhuri in 1994, but ruined it herself not signing any films due to her engagement with Akshay...same thing could very well happen to Divya specially when she was married and not just engaged.
Also it could be possible that songs like ruk ruk ruk, tu cheez badi hai mast mast and tip tip barsa paani would might not have suited to Divya that much the way they have clicked with Raveena and Tabu.
Also Divya seems like a misfit, immature and a weaker actress in the role of film Laadla (from whatever the raw footage of Divya's Laadla available on youtube) which Sridevi played later on.
People love you only when you are rich, famous, beautiful or dead.
So very true.
