Devi married him because he was prince, don't think her consent was asked as he Himself was very young and Devi would have been younger.

Karuwaki and her origins are not known so don't know from where she came from and how she married Ashok. He boasts that feudal kings used to give him their daughters so she must have been one of them.

Padmavati was a secondary queen and her origins also are not known. Her son was Crown Prince so she would have been from a prestigious family.

Asandhimitra was princess of Asandhivat and therefore this was likely an alliance. Her good nature, religious disposition, beauty and kind heart made her his absolute favourite queen.

Tisyarakshita was a handmaiden of Asandhimitra and due to her sensual charms Ashok was seduced by her and her saving Ashok from an illness he made her his Chief Queen.

Actress playing Devi is Prachi Bora . She was good today. Her body language, dialogue delivery everything was on point.

She's the only good actress in young gen and hwr character Devi is so feisty and amazing 👏 Devshok have chemistry as well but Sara mood kharab ho gaya with that spoiler that he will ditch Devi for Karuwaki. They really want to close the show in just one month. 😒

I could watch the entire show with just Sushima and Ashok bromance but not Karuwaki and her dumb bhashans, One Anu aunty is enough 🤣

Yes , she is good however her dialogues dint make sense today for me !! I am not sure why she said "honewali bahu hu" . They are married and she had bidaai .

I am not sure that spoiler is true. They are already married and so he brought her to Magadh. He might marry Kaurwaki to save her from Vidisha's king but might not ditch Devi after what she did today ! It felt like he himself was impressed with her.

I liked the characterization of Devi today, she was one badass queen. Don't know about the others but Ashok married her when he himself was very young.

The desire to conquer the world, ferocious attitude, respect, pride etc must have come from her.

Ashok had inferiority and abandonment issues I presume Devi played a significant part in shaping his personality.

Eventually her children Mahendra and Sangamitra spread Buddhism across continents.
