What was left to manipulate?
The mother walked out (apparently) not to look back, that too in their most vulnerable state.
It was shown that they wrapped up everything and moved to US 5 years back because Choti Anu was very miserable and Anuj, depressed, Shruti entered their lives 4 years back.
So, with a packed schedule like this, I don't know ow if ther was scope to manipulate or not.
So, whether or not they did manipulate is left to speculation.

I have not seen the episode. So, I don't know how grave this situation was. However, based on reading the updates, I gather that Adhya called him out for his constant Maa jaap. So the problem is that a child is calling out on parent's mistakes, is it?
Why is that wrong? Anyone with a sane mind can understand that Maa is not worth it. But this is Adhya/CA who is telling him to not waste his time on a useless woman who left them high & dry. She does not have to be manipulated to know what unfolded in front of her eyes!
The problem with our culture is that younger ones must not point out the mistakes of elders. Forget about mistakes, they are considered rude & ill-mannered even if they voice out their opinion. This needs to change. Elders are also humans and make mistakes, can be wrong.

I don't think what she did is the problem but how she did it. The actions perhaps crossing the line.
But then again, there are no subtleties on this show.
No doubt the parents' actions needs to be called out. There definitely must have been a better way to put forth opinions, just not sureif it would be possible for characters on this show, especially when the barometer of behaviour are the 3 anmol ratna.

You've got a point. I happened to see the clip and Adhya crossed a line while reminding Anuj about his Anu Jaap.
DKP wants to just ruin the kiddos character in order to keep WW Maa.
Anuj did reprimand Adhya for her behavior rightly.
A 12 year old girl does not behave like that. But this is Indian ITV daily soap so you can expect anything but sanity.
Where is Malti devi?
Dead?
Or on a World Tour?
N Barkha?
Only Adhik is still in the picture.
Weird.
While MD and Barkha’s manipulations are still a point of discussion, how has Paakhi’s abuse and manipulation of CA been totally forgotten or ignored? Paakhi was equally responsible in festering CA’s insecurities about Anupamaa…

Minors worrying about adults' love life is not okay. Why is she concerned about Anuj's love life when it should be the other way round?
Jesus, kids shouldn't have to bear the emotional burden of protecting their parents. That is parenting 101.
It has nothing to do with calling out elders lol.

Let's do whataboutism as if Pakhi did not get an earful from Upmaa and Adhik for doing so. Unlike MD who was lauded as "which saas won't manipulate a child feel insecure about a bahu like Anupama"
