I don't think this is true. Rajkummar Rao (in a flop film) won over Kartik ( huge hit BB3), Ajay Devgn, Amitabh, Hrithik

For something to lose credibility it should have credibility in the first place.

All of this started with SRK's rigged awards in the 90s giving various favors to the jury to get these due to his unhealthy overly competitive nature , there is a reason why Aamir then Nana patkar and followed by Sunny boycott filmfare due to this one SRK, all on the record.

Before SRK ruined its credibility, filmfare was indeed a prestigious award. (the legacy was carried forward by his friend Kjo later on)

Rishi Kapoor had rigged it too before SRK.(admitted openly) Amitabh deserved a lot of awards but did not get any. Filmfare was always something that could be bought by cash or kind. This is nothing new. They just marketed it as something solid.

That is why most stars do not attend unless to perform, get pr for their movies or are invited and paid money.

This is a PR game. Shahid was ignored for Kabir Singh (toxic masculinity) and Ranbir got an award for a similar one(toxic masculinity) ignored. The whole Ranbir and Alia powerful and talented couple is a PR coup and clean up because of the whole backlash they have received.

First Ram mandir and now this, their pr is definitely working overtime 😁

Vicky, Rani, were definitely the most suited to win this year hands down

Amitabh, Hrithik, and Amitabh are well-known. Kartik was slightly ahead of Rajkumar Rao, but exceptions aren't the norm.
