Also my only hope is Ani should realize his feelings before marriage and we should see Jhani ( ani and Janak) happy together.

I like anirudh so far. He wants to do the right thing for Jhanak by making her independent. He somehow also feels responsible for her well being as some where in his mind , he knows he has taken the vows to protect her as her husband. But what he is not realizing or what he doesn’t want to accept is that he is falling for her. He likes her character. Her no nonsense attitude and her innocence. In the past few days he has also seen the negative side of arshi , which probably has made him fall more for Jhanak. But he doesn’t want to accept this and perhaps confused. He was going to Mary arshi and would stick to his word, at the same time fulfill his responsibility towards Jhanak.

I really hope he realizes his feelings for Jhanak soon and not marry arshi. If this goes the imlie way and he marries arshi and then still go after Jhanak, it will be so pathetic. Hope the makers don’t take that route.

By the way , todays episode was 35 mins long ?? Any reason why?

I also hope it does not go Imlie way and show something different. Not sure why the episode was long.

Honestly Anirudh is not able to say anything to anyone. If some person is being treated like this constantly, then they might feel leaving the place come what may.

I also really felt bad because it is really a slavery treatment how they called her and almost everyone started mistreating her. Hope really hope this doesn’t continue in the show it will be very difficult watching if they continue like that then again Shristi and Arshi are obsessed with Jhanak.I agree with you maybe this is the real reason she wants to leave. They are mentally harassing her.

Well considering the actual situation Jhanak needs to dance on the song of Janak Samjhaa Karo “Sabki barateein’’ wearing almost the same attire it will suit her.

Jhanak is doing Ani dirty smiley39Why is she embarassing him like that?

She's coming across as a stupid woman. But its a drama afterall someone needs to be stupid for the show to go on. But loved how Jhanak gave back to Arshi, she totally deserved itsmiley32

Also what's the logic with investing so many years? So what? If someone falls out of love you leave no matter how long the relationship lasted. Girl atleast listen to your mum. Shristi Maasi seems like an intelligent woman, good at reading the room.

If only women in ITV have an ounce of self respect in themsmiley44No matter how vile Arshi is I'd want her to dump Ani before he dumps her!

Now coming to the relationship dynamics,

Let me first start with Aniruddh and Arshi, since there is a lot of similarities between them and Adi-Malini of Imlie. Both couples are/were in a relationship for many years and are quite invested in each other with the intention of marriage. They have good understanding of the other's nature and like, dislikes etc. However, both couples love each other and are not "in love with each other" which actually makes it quite easy for the relationship to break. This is already evidenced by the fact that she is actively trying to separate Aniruddh from Jhanak as she is aware and is suspect of growing feelings between them (she is right in her own POV, and insecurities, insecurities like Jhanak mentioned.). Complimenting this with her bullish, self-centered and dominating nature she learnt from her mother to put people down will only count towards her downfall. She is a depiction of an everyday person we encounter is really life who is good as long as things go their way and become immediately hostile and defensive as soon as they sense a threat similar to how she sensed a threat in Jhanak because of her innate personality and talent. She only wanted Jhanak to have a chance to dance because it made her feel morally superior as a good person and not because she genuinely is one. She immediately became hostile and took no time to poke and jab at Jhanak the minute her untrained self-tied with her for first position in the dance competition and at other moments like the Haldi ceremony where she witnessed Ani being mesmerized by her exuberance during her dance, mentioned how Jhanak took center spot for attention during the drinking fiasco or when Ani brought her back after she ran away from home against her wishes. Her repeated demands to remove Jhanak from his house will only irk Aniruddh and create rifts between them while Ani and Jhanak grow closer over time. I am honestly surprised that Aniruddh has not sensed how Arshi doesn't genuinely care about the welfare of Appu di (her getting irritated that the dress would have been spoiled and foiled her wishes during the birthday feast) whereas he notices how good Jhanak is to Appu di with whom he is the closest out of all siblings cum cousins. She is just like her mother, unable to see past herself (evident from her remarks on how "understanding" she is to Ani on a phone while her actions betray her; she put her own disappointments and need to question above a very sick Jhanak and Aniruddh who was trying to take care of her). Aniruddh will dodge a bullet if he doesn't marry her. But the question now is will he, or won't he? I hope Unlike Malini, Arshi wouldn't have to go through the pain of emotional infidelity as no one deserves it even if Arshi is a bully and an a**.

As for Aniruddh and Jhanak, I find them endearing like Adi and Imlie with a lot of familiarity. You know how Adi and Imlie developed an indescribable and unbreakable bond because they went through many life turning moments together? I find these two to be the same. Aniruddh was a companion and firsthand witness to Jhanak's change from a vivacious and strong but naive fresh out of teens girl to an introverted and antisocial person: a complete 180. Starting from her mother's insults at the hands of his future in-laws to her death and Jhanak's kidnapping by Tejas and elopement, he has seen it all which made him develop a soft spot for her. Discovering who her father is while knowing that she cannot handle the truth, he brought her to Kolkata to keep her safe. In the process, both himself and particularly Jhanak provoked the wrath of the family members forcing them to work as a team which further brought them together albeit with reluctance on Jhanak's part. I think and feel that the soft conner for Jhanak in his heart kept growing as a result of his admiration on how Jhanak is able to effortlessly retort and respond tit for tat without ever being rude unlike his family, Arshi (like the birthday incident where she says," Is civility supposed to be only from my side? then what about yourself?" and " your insecurities are not my problem") and even himself on occasions (I am sure he also misses the Jhanak she used to be as the dynamics between them drastically changed from friends to Master and Servant once she came to his home; a stark contrast to how she interacted with him in Kashmir before all the events). He also admires her beauty (the pink saree scene......hayeee :)) he was bowled over by the feminine, demure and shy Jhanak which is so unlike the flighty and argumentative rebel he encounters in his conversations), her passion (googly eyes witnessing her dance during the Haldi ceremony which he never did for Arshi), her Goodness (noting how Jhanak keeps Appu di all smiles and Happy), her naiveté ( to understand, accept and love Appu di for what she is- an pure soul without malice like herself) . Taking into consideration his actions and protectiveness towards Jhanak till now: calling the police- an extreme action to prevent Jhanak from going back to Kashmir against his wishes (his subconscious minds speak the truth lol, Jhanak's absence or presence affects him dearly: he's whipped for her badly!), Dragging Rahul into conversation with Jhanak and repeatedly mentioning him to be her boyfriend (he is weirdly jealous during the birthday party and scrunches his face when Jhanak defends Rahul) irking Jhanak, reiterating multiple times she cannot leave without his permission and that she should listen only to him all point to one thing. Aniruddh will be the first one to realize his feelings of " responsibility", "duty", "righteousness", "protection." are all more than just that and are probably "love", "attachment" and "Affection" because deep down he knows that the marriage did happen even if both don't believe in it and he considers himself as her husband and thinks it is his right to keep his wife safe and provide for her. This will be shown as a continuing thread in the future where his feelings will be explored. He will need immense patience and perseverance to pursue Jhanak and convince her that she possibly feels the same for him. This will happen in parallel to him seeing first-hand how Arshi really is as a person and understand that while she may be the ideal daughter in law, Jhanak is actually the right fit for him as an ideal wife seeing their similar nature in values and how they both consider Appu di to be special part of their lives. Like @Prietyp and yourself said, I hope this doesn't go the Imlie/Faltu way as it will become run of the mill story with nothing unique, Adi and Imlie were once in a million and this couple comes the closest to that set of dynamics I have seen. I believe that with the rate Ani is becoming aware of his evolving feelings towards Jhanak and her importance in his life, he will realize it before marriage as they just announced a party for announcing marriage with Arshi.

Coming to Jhanak, she is a spitfire tempered by losses and trauma in her recent life. She has given up on life and has no qualms about being suicidal, after all the only person she knew loved her unconditionally is there no more. No wonder she is willing to put herself on the path to destruction and not give two hoots, she is constantly questioned about her integrity and character every minute by the family whose son extended a helping hand at the most important moment. I do believe Jhanak is rude to Aniruddh as a form of defense mechanism as she is constantly portrayed as someone trying to "get into his pants" per say which prevents her from being even civil or cordial to him. She kind of has to because otherwise she has to appreciate and acknowledge Aniruddh for the Kind and wonderful person he is, the only one who ever even gave a modicum of respect to both her and mother irrespective of the nature of her birth or status. She is afraid to open that Pandora's box because she is very well aware and repress how much she has become attached to him because of the reason above and also because he literally is the thread by which her life keeps hanging to this world. The minute she acknowledges all these compartmentalized and repressed feelings which she has tried to and failed (even openly shown to Ani a couple of times like how she chose the easy way to make sure Ani and his family is safe by trying to go with Tejas, telling him in conversations how she feels only one person cares for her by indirectly referencing him), she knows she will start falling for him (I will if a man fought tooth and nail to make sure I had the best opportunities career and otherwise!) which she cannot afford (her saying to Ani that only he cares for her while also mentioning in the same breath she cannot call her husband her own which she deep down wishes to). One, because she in the deepest of her hearts consider Aniruddh to be her husband even if they both refuse to acknowledge the marriage which did happen in reality (as she mentioned in her drunken stupor to Ani) and two, because the said man is her cousin's would-be husband, making it more personal to her than Aniruddh (said cousin who she considers to be sister to a certain extent) which adds a layer of restriction on top of ones currently present. Jhanak considers her Self-respect to be her only asset to date and will never put herself in a position where she is questioned and demeaned even further. Like Aniruddh said, feelings and thoughts cannot be controlled, but actions that follow it can be. Hence, she makes sure to be purposefully rude to him, mentioning multiples times that the marriage is a drama and fake, asking him and asserting him that he has no rights on her to prevent herself from ever giving in any chances to fall in love with Aniruddh. AS a result, she will shy away, be in denial, spurn Aniruddh in his advances but will eventually choose him over Arshi unlike Imlie, but it may take us quite some time to get there. I only hope that we get to witness a beautiful and complex love story.

I also find it interesting that there is already a level of familiarity akin to marriage between Aniruddh and Jhanak (both being equally understanding, listening and obedient when required by the other party), while between Aniruddh and Arshi one is the giver while the other is a taker (Aniruddh being the more accommodating and calmer giver, Arshi being the loud and demanding taker who wears the pants in the relationship).

I pray that this serial doesn't meet the same fate as Faltu considering Leenaji's story is what's been keeping Hindi TV afloat for the past 5-6 years. Her Writing has always been applauded for complex and nuanced characters which we can clearly see being established within 50 episodes. Other CVs don't accomplish to the same extent with their writing. It's clearly being seen in the TRPs (1.6-2.1 in 60 episodes). I am looking forward to how the story shapes up and especially how Arshi's character arc goes as she is the most realistic of the 3 and also the most hate able.

Tagging some members to keep the conversation flowing and to hear other POVs! Nice to meet you all!

I think two sides of her are clashing and she is lashing out at Ani as she knows only he listens to her. Part of her I feel is immensely attached, affectionate and grateful to Ani for saving her life, but the constant attacks by his family members on her self-respect and dignity which she considers her greatest asset is only because of him in the first place. So, she is also angry at him for creating this situation. But as a Neutral 3rd party it is annoying for us viewers.
