But what shifted? They were getting closer emotionally but the only thing that I can think of, is the scene before he gave his frist besotted look on sankranti. When Abhira claimed him as her husband to Ruhi. He was definetely shocked seeing her claiming rights. Is this it? Watching her claim her rights on him subconsciosly made him let go completely? Am I missing something else?

I think the events after Rohit missing were very important. He saw how abhira carried the family after the rohit loss but when abhira lost her mother everyone was taunting and abusing her. She become a strong emotional support for armaan too. Then next important events were when he saw abhira standing for aryan and Krish and changed his outlook to the point he stood up too ( Vidya pointing out that he's becoming like abhira). Then at makar sankranti he noticed how abhira is really adjusting with his family and how she stood for herself and got her wish granted. Then the friendship happened. I think events at the college he got carried away because this was the first time he was being appreciated for what he's and not being burdened and guilt tripped

Just two episodes back he was worrying and was concerned about Ruhi, and suddenly from Sankranthi’s episode where Abhira ran away, dadisa was insulted, in spite of being mad at her he started being extra cordial, friendly and trying to gain attention from Abhira. I think Makers suddenly decided they should take their story forward, hence this sudden shift

Armaan already knew Abhira's plan beforehand so why would he be upset? Infact no one is taking it as Dadisa's insult but rather Abhira trapping her in her own words and ways.

I'm aware of their emotional intimacy increasing lately. Its not just Armaan being influenced by Abhira but Abhira is also influenced by Armaan for ex to not be impulsive when someone insults her parents. Whether its Abhira willing to adjust/caring for his family/ acting as bahu or her understanding his struggles and not wanting to be a burden has happened before the sankranti day too so to see him give these besotted looks every ep/day since that sankranti look feels like something changed. Like something clicked in his head and he now sees her as a woman he could be attracted to y'know? Like he is legit infatuated rn. He looks, talks, thinks and does things only with abhira in mind

Oh definitely but I was hoping for a proper, clear drawn out slow burn like their symbol turtoise especially given the good writing with their dynamic. I'll just have to classify the "claiming husband" thing being what started this till I get a better answer

I think one must also remember that they are sharing a room and bed (platonically) for over a month and they have been physically fighting, holding hands, hugging and falling into each others' arms all the time!

True that... They have always shown that awkwardness for physical intimacy... It's natural to have that... Also, both of them do consider each other to be good human beings, with empathy and values, I mean they don't have a reason to hate each other... And there is comfort factor also now..

For me the change is that, Armaan has stopped yelling at her, everything else looks the same

Usko tho bas Abhira ko help karna Hain all the time, just that his family is coming in the way so that he wants Abhira to behave well in front of them..
