Of course the first Munna Bhai was an Indian Patch Adams but the 2nd one (which I like even more) was an original one (the Gandhigiri concept!).

3 Idiots was mostly based on Bhagat's "Five Point Someone" but PK again had an original script.

Sanju was made like a smoothened biography of Sanjay Dutt (with his collaboration) but Dunki again is an original script.

If it comes to "copycat", there are many Indian filmmakers one can name... focussing on Hirani or Bhansali is quite ridiculous, imo.

Not much is original in Bollywood anymore unfortunately, so many movies are inspired by Hollywood or Korean movies

One song from Golmaal 3 is copied from Sivaji (Rajnikant movie) and the car on cliff scene in Dilwale from another movie😅

I think there is no aspect of filmmaking in BW that is original atp, kuch na kuch is picked from somewhere in many movies😪

If you were being sarcastic, I missed that🙈
