I really liked the first episode . Too soon to come to any conclusion though .

The visuals are amazing . The grandeur and opulence of Ayodhya , the statues of all ancestors of Dasharatha were breathtakingly beautiful .

In star plus Mahabharat there used to be a song for every character , which I really loved . I see the same here . The music is just perfect .

About Episode 1 - Insightful highlights

Raja Nemi

It was a new learning for me about how Raja Dashratha was originally called Nemi and owing to him swiftly moving his chariot /ratha in all ten directions he earned the name of Dasharath.

Rishi Jabali as a representative of public opinion

I first came to know about him through Siya ke Ram . I loved how using rishi Jabali a beautiful message was conveyed in the first episode .

He asks Dasharath why should he fight this Devasur war. If asuras win there is no loss for ayodhya . If devas win there is no profit . Then why spend Ayodhya's resources ?

What if Dasharath dies? Ayodhya will be orphaned .

I loved Dasharath's response smiley42

Not all wars are for profit and loss calculation. They are fought for friendship, loyalty and dharma . His allegiance is to the protection of dharma and not vansha . Hence he won't bat an eyelid before jeopardizing his life for his friend Jatayu

2 boons to Kaikeyi

I saw iv of the producer of the show where he says he will try to bring out the reason why Dasharath gave 2 boons to kaikeyi. Why not one or any other number?

The answer is evident from the episode. She not only saved his life twice , but by saving life of Raja Nemi she gave him his new identity of Dasharath

Dialogue Writing

I loved the starplus mahabharat due to amazing writing and powerful dialogues. The writing in this episode was very good.

" Bina soche diya gaya vachan aur bina dekhe chalaya gaya baan dono hi manushya ke jeevan me shraap bankar lauta hai "

( We know both are true for Dasharath , promise of 2 boons which will change the course of Ramayan and the arrow on Shravan that will return as curse and ultimately cause his downfall and death)

Hope all episodes turn out good!!

Cast impression

Because I have seen this actor play Bhishma Pitamah before , I was literally feeling no difference acting wise . The voice ,the acting everything made me feel that he is actually Bhishma Pitamah in the role of Dashrath . Otherwise he suits the role a lot .smiley1

Rest of the cast didn't make much impression on me as of now. Liked Kaikeyi , she felt loud at moments but overall suits the role. The scene where she puts her hand in the chariot was painful to watch .

Didn't like the actress playing Kaushalya much . As the episodes unfold probably it will be easier to warm up with all characters.

It is unimaginable that Manthara is so old even before the children are born. How can she survive so long as to see Bharat a grown-up. Looks like a mistake from the makers of this serial.

Maybe Manthra is like a grandmotherly figure for Kaikeyi , may have served her mother as well. Not sure about how old was she when she started taking care of Kaikeyi . Plus people in that yug lived for thousands of years .

Living thousands of years. Is there any evidence of people living for so long. Somewhere it is written that the episode of Ramayana was from 5114 BC. That means that during that time the other rulers of India who were before the BC era must have surely seen Lord Rama and the rulers of Ayodhya at that time. Not so convincing to believe that they lived for thousands of years. Cud be some sort of different calculation for one year in those days. Manthara looked too old and that was my comment. Mistake by the makers. Should have put a younger Manthara for Keikayi before she became a mother of Bharat. You have your belief and I have just given my observation. Maybe you are right about the thousands of years life in those days.

Yeah it is quite tough for us to imagine a lifespan so long smiley44

But this is what I have commonly read and heard

For me, Nikitin Dheer stood out the most as Ravana. I think that the overall cinematography is pretty decent & well executed. It keeps the viewers hooked with the method of storytelling. A lot of factors aren't constantly repeated like Ravana's notorious laughing as seen in the prior mytho shows.

I kinda found the rishi's getup weird when Dashrath & wives were praying for their sons lol 😂 . But the overall makeup is quite simple & nice. Not fazed with body art & flowers (having seen some of their past & present productions). Also, Shilpa's lenses & makeup as Kaikayi are kinda OTT for me. I did find Manthara's age weird too

Nikitin's physique and looks suits the role a lot but I am not liking his acting. His pronunciation and Tandav was very weird . His dialogues are poorly written too. Words like telling his father " Bhagooo" .

I too hate too much flower decorations smiley36

I really loved Sita's dresses in Siya ke Ram especially the beautiful mithila painting dupattas . They were so pretty smiley42. Her dressing changed completely as she became the DIL of Ayodhya . Those were beautiful as well .

Over here I didn't like Sita's intro dress much . Let's see what changes are going to come Image
