To some extent it is true! I gave up my career just because my husband is reluctant to keep my child at a daycare. Humari society aurato ko dabaa ke hi rakhna jaanti hai... I used to work remotely but the toxicity of the company compelled me to put in my papers last year. So aajkal m spending my time watching Maaa and her udaan...besides hunting for a suitable job.

But not all families supress women. In my family me, my mil, and my sil all work. Our husbands are very supportive. Infact, they believe women must utilise their education and be financially independent. Some women even earn more than their husbands.

Unfortunately, hardly any Indian show tries to showcase progressive families! Such shows may be able to teach men also how to be a supportive husband.
