I agree, which banners you are representing is also responsible for boosting you to a win. This is why Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, Ajay Devgan, Ameesha Patel, Urmila Matondkar, Shilpa Shetty, etc. have all faced struggles because they were not signed with the major banners and all have talked about the awards being fixed or a lack of recognition.

I would need to look at the other category winners for IIFA but to me, they're not that different from the Filmfare Winners, at least in the Best Actress category. The lack of Kajol bias is the main factor here and I do think she deserved some awards although not as many as she got from Filmfare.

My predictions for the acting categories are:

Best Film: Dunki

Best Director: ????

Best Actor: Shah Rukh Khan (Dunki or Jawan) or Ranveer Singh (RARKPK)

Best Actress: Rani Mukerji (Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway)

Best Supporting Actor: Vicky Kaushal (Dunki) or Tota Roy Chowdhury (RARKPK)

Best Supporting Actress: Dimple Kapadia (Pathaan) or Deepika Padukone (Jawan) or Shabana Azmi (RARKPK)

Actor in a Negative Role: Jaya Bachchan (unless she is eligible for Best Supporting Actress instead) or Bobby Deol

Best Actor (Critics): Vicky Kaushal (Sam Bahadur)

Best Actress (Critics): ??? maybe Rani again

Yeah, very true. that's why Indian awards are a joke for a lot of people. Lot of respected artists care more about State and National Awards and rightly so. Look at the Oscars. For all his popularity and brilliance, Leonardo Di Caprio has won just 1 Oscar. they dont care about appeasing anybody and idol worship and box office collections. So I'm hoping things change in India too but have no hope. I saw KJo's Instagram post about RARKPK a couple of days back praising Alia and also Ranveer a little and it was classic lobbying for award season for his darling daughter. If Alia wins over Rani this year, I'm done with Filmfare for good. I was done 50% when Gully Boy won all the awards over films like Kesari and Super 30 and Kabir Singh but this will be the final nail in the coffin.

P.S. These are your predictions right? Do you want these results or do you think these will happen?

All our discussions are for popular awards. Critics awards are decided by critics so point discussing them.

I am a huge Alia fan and she has deserved all her awards so far but this year no way she deserves it over Rani or Kiara.

Watch Shefali in 3 of Us or Kareena in Jaan e Jaan or Tabu in Khufia and you will realise the bar for critics awards.

I am assuming you are including all of her off-screen appearances as well? Then she surely has a shot.

Hold on, is there a different category for OTT ? Jaane Jaan, 3 of Us, Khufia will not be in the same categories as RARKPK, Animal, Dunki, Jawan etc?

Hhaha. Maybe thats true. But if i look back at all the Critics awards over the years, they make sense 9/10 times.

I think competition is tougher this year in the critics category than popular awards
