I don't know for sure because those two posts are a lot more verbose than usual but they probably also saw that several times now, I've said that all the troll accounts have very short posts so they may be writing longer stuff now in order to appear different. The account only has one other post which is equally as toxic so not a good sign.

I agree with everyone saying that Filmfare will not recognize Animal. They might give it nominations, but they'll never go out of their way to award it based on how many people in the industry were displeased with it. People are also saying that if Amazon Prime sponsors Filmfare this year, Ranveer might get it because anytime Prime has sponsored the show in the past, their nominees have won.

I see online a lot of posts about 2019. I personally had no issues with Gully Boy winning the major acting and film/director awards. Maybe shahid was slightly better but Ranveer was brilliant as well. Maybe it didn't deserve the music awards because I felt Kabir Singh music was much better. Kalank not really because I don't rate Pritam. For anyone who has learnt music or understands music can tell you how Pritam is fooling the audience. Yes, his songs are likeable but he is using the same 6 chords and 4 bars (interchanging and mixing them up to create difference between individual songs but there's no creativity) hence an O Maahi connects to Ve Kamleya connects to Kesariya which connects to Hawayein. People liked one so they feel a connection to it and like all and then get sick of it very soon which is what music labels and producers want these days. Enough views/reels on Youtube, Instagram and Spotify to monetise and make money while creating the PR and attraction for the movie. Vishal Shekhar are just glorified DJs now, not music directors, similar to those doing bollywood nights in foreign discos. Cant believe they are the same guys who produced Jhankaar Beats, Dostana and Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi back in the day .

The premise is concerning. Why should they just hand out awards because the movie is India's entry to the Oscars. Other way round they should award based on merit and probably then choose the most awarded movie as the selection for the Oscars.

I tried to look up the sponsors but am unable to find the sponsors list for the upcoming filmfare awards. I hope these side issues dont affect the awards because most of SRK movies now release on Netflix not Prime. 12th Fail which I think should win Best Film & Director is on hotstar so they too will get affected if this amazon thing is true.

I was fine with Ranveer winning. I think Gully Boy swept the awards that year though and while it was a good movie, I don't think it needed to win everything it did, but Ranveer's win I definitely did not have a problem with. This was also the era when it was refreshing to see him in a toned down role. I honestly don't know much about music bit you clearly do from the way you speak of it with such passion and knowledge, so I believe you and how some songs can sound the same from repeating the same chords and bars. Sometimes that's for thematic connection but I imagine if it happens as much as you've said it does, it's probably just lack of creativity at some point.

Yeah, that's what doesn't make sense to me either. Why not wait to see which film wins the most awards organically and then submit that to the Oscars? But I don't remember if Filmfare always comes before the Oscars or not (usually it does) so maybe that's why they felt it was better to have a chosen winner already that was going to the Oscars since the dates didn't work out to wait?

Pathaan is Amazon Prime so I wonder if the overwhelming success of that movie means we'll have to see SRK and Deepika win for Pathaan. I'd rather see them win for Jawan or SRK for Dunki. Rocky Aur Rani is the other main Prime release I can think of. I feel there would be a lot of controversy if 12th Fail lost Best Film to Rocky Aur Rani, Pathaan, or any movie like that so hopefully that will not happen. I didn't realize these awards are so easy to influence that just who the sponsor of the show is that year can affect the winners. But the people suggesting that on the Reddit thread said that about Gully Boy and it's more likely it won because India wanted it as their Oscar film rather than because Prime was the Filmfare sponsor (I hope so anyway).

I can still accept Jawan winning the big honors above 12th Fail but not Pathaan or RARKPK. I am also not sure what Filmfare happening in Gujarat means from the point of view of external factors influencing the awards like sponsors, people who attend, Oscars, etc. These awards should not be easy to influence. In catering to influences, they lose integrity affecting the brand long term. There is already a greater appreciation for National awards now and gap between Filmfare and IIFA is reducing too. For Filmfare to go back to their ruling criticality and perception, being authentic is the best way possible.

Pathaan will be remembered for its box office numbers and the Salman cameo but I can't imagine anything else. Jawan was still a good movie and far superior so Jawan winning wouldn't bother me as much as Pathaan. I don't know if Filmfare happening in Gujarat means there can be external forces from the venue that could affect the winners as well. I'll just say that the Oscars never have to worry about being influenced by location (although they certainly are influenced by narratives and the president of the Academy) so it is strange that Filmfare lets the winners be selected based on location and sponsors, if those claims are true. That being said, all the awards ceremonies are heavily fixed and none are ever going to be a true barometer of the greatest performance. There are too many politics behind everything. National Awards heavily favor BJP party members or whoever is a judge on the panel can have connections to the nominees like Saif's mom.
