What a beautiful episode today with Raj Babbar as a guest and so many wonderful songs of his films, too.

Piyush, Utkarsh, Adya and Subhadeep were all terrific. However, Ananya stole the show for me. Just amazing performance by her today. She really has come along way!

I agree with IbuHatela about Anjana and that is all I have to say about her performances.

I can't wait for tomorrow's episode as well, it'll be too good!

Singing wise todays episode paled in comparison to yesterday. Nitin Mukesh comes across as such a warm person (which I can vouch for, spent a lot of hours as his co passenger right next to him), always a pleasure to have on the show.

Muskaan - phool tumhe bheja hai and woh Chand khila woh taare hase, she sang them beautifully. She chose two lovely songs, but different but lovely. The second song was so good, that it could be one of the best performances of the week.

Dipan - Kabhi Kabhi mere dil mein/ sawan ka mahina - I didn’t enjoy Kabhi Kabhi until the antra. The antra was so good, that I could forgive him for the mukhda being average. He started singing softly (something I pointed out yesterday about singing slower songs in a softer voice). Sawan ka mahina was good. Not a wow, but a decent performance.

Mahima - Kahin dur jab din dhal jaye/ main pal do pal ka shayar hoon - she started of weak with her first song, but the got better, but in this high notes her voice was beginning to thin out. Also this was one of the weaker renditions of main pal do pal ka shayar hoon. Today wasn’t her day.

Obom - Suhana safar aur yeh mausam haseen/ Kahin karti hogi woh mera intezaar. Why is he still on the show? Both his songs were such let downs. His performance today wasn’t even decent it was outright poor.

Vaibhav - ham to tere aashiq and mere man Ki ganga - what happened to him today? He sounded hoarse like he had a cold or was just choked up with emotion. His songs lacked the typical Vaibhav ‘tadka’. His first song was lackluster, second got better but was still not a good performance.

Menuka - ek pyar ka naghma - she sounded like a child. I know she’s only 17 (or thereabouts), but she sounded like a 8-10 year old. It wasn’t a wow performance but just about average. She really needs to start singing some different songs, it’s like listening to the same thing every week.

Surinder - dum dum diga diga - he barely sang just about 2 lines. I wish he sang a little longer. Anyway it was a poor performance. It just sounded like some random person being forced to sing, not a singing show contestant.

As most expected Surinder left this week. The next to go should be Obom, if we go by talent

Menuka is not 17 she is 24 years old.

Nitin Mukesh was great as a guest.

Muskan, Dipan & Mahima performed really well but those were not their best performances.

Obom was average. I feel the songs given to him could have been better.

Menuka was good but for some reason she couldn't create the magic she usually does on this iconic song.

Elimination was pretty much expected.

And congratulations to Menuka for getting an opportunity to do playback in a big movie like Salaar. Looking forward to listening to her song.

That is a huge start of her career I don’t think before this any Indian idol contestant had got opportunity to do play black already while they were still in the show. Coming to playback I am wondering who is Subash Ghai is going to do scripted song offer in his flim.

I was super excited for today's Mukesh episode, as he is my all-time favorite singer. I like many genres of music, from many eras and styles, but his music will always have a place in my heart. Plus his songs are usually a challenge for many singers on singing shows, so I was curious to see how they would do. The results were...mixed.

Muskaan is so good. She never has a bad performance and added her own flavor to a pair of classic songs. No clue how far she will go, but she was really nice again.

Dipan was pretty good. I tend to be higher on him than most and maybe that happened again this week.

Mahima tried hard with one of Mukesh ji's best, from a movie that is still viewed as one of the best Bollywood films ever. This was not her best showing, and there are others who would've done better with this song, but her effort was there. Same with Pal do Pal.

Obom has been very good for most of the show. This episode was not for him. Still, I appreciated his spin on Suhana Safar and I'm sure he'll do better next week when he's singing songs that are more in his element.

Like Obom, this week was not the kind of week where Vaibhav was going to shine. There are Mukesh songs that sort of fit his style, but not many. He gets a pass from me too.

Menuka was needed in this show. Most of the singers today are very good, but Mukesh style songs are not ones that fit them. Menuka is the top singer on the show for old school love ballads, a la the ones that Mukesh and Lata ji sang tons of in their time. This wasn't her best showing but I still think she did pretty good, at least much better than how Raina felt about her performance above. Then again, she's my favorite contestant so the bias is there on my part. Besides, Shreya's reaction and everyone else's on the show, as well as Nitin ji singing with her means much more than all of our thoughts anyways. 😂

Menuka is becoming a mainstream star! Salaar is going to break the box office and she's singing in it? That is a monumental opportunity for her.

I liked Surendar's performance. I thought it was fun.

Shreya and Nitin ji's performance was lovely.

Nitin Mukesh's stories were wonderful to hear. He's so soft spoken and gentle with his words, and it's great to hear stories about an eternal legend like his father.

Surendar's elimination was disappointing. Not surprising, but disappointing. I have a soft spot for classical singers and liked him more than most viewers probably do. I'll miss his performances. I thought he was top 10 worthy at the very least, or at least better than Anjana and Adya. But I get it. Adya's fanbase is growing and there are people who do like Anjana's performances, even though I'd prefer listening to nails scratching a chalkboard instead. Surendar getting exposure on this show could be life-changing, and you could see that he was well-liked by his peers and the judges.

Next week will be fun and will probably feature better performances than today's episode did. Most of the contestants styles mesh a lot better with Subhash Ghai and Mahima Chaudhry's movies than they did for Mukesh ji's songs. Mahima was a childhood crush of mine so I'm going to watch it with joy.
