Didn’t demonise a marginalised group…I. E women if that’s what you mean…

it’s called animal , clearly demonising its own protagonist (and the characters of bobby and ilk) …yes, he gets emotional moments and a thumping background score and is played by a good looking actor …but it also shows said character facing every health and relationship issue imaginable, and in the end isn’t even getting any validation from the person he wanted it from …his wife also is implied to have left him after several attempts to mend him…he lacks health, peace, sanity, love and emotional comfort by the end of the film and is merely existing ….how is that an endorsement to follow his ways …

Out of context clips flying around in social media where these scenes are viewed with no head or tail , need not be explained…

It’s like cutting out a clip from wolf of Wall Street and putting in on Twitter saying “omg how can de caprio yell at Margot Robbie and disrespect her for not having a career or earning money”..”omg how can he film and broadcast her without her consent “…”omg how can he cheat on his wife”…”omg why is this film so anti female”

Coz he’s an asshole that’s why ….and yes there are people who admire him in the film and he gets away Scott free after a little jail time …but the film dosent tell the everyone to go lead debauched lives

Anyone who’s using movies from decades ago to excuse Animal is kidding themselves. Yes, movies have always had some toxic and problematic elements to them but as a society we have improved or at least we thought we did but when you see films like Animal and what men are doing on social media then it’s scary to think this is a reality and no amount of blaming game and pointing fingers is going to change that fact.

It’s one thing to have your own choice and opinions but justifying it saying everyone else is also the same by digging out some irrelevant clips from decades old movies is nothing but grasping for the straws. 🤷‍♀️

I was in the theater for Sam Bahadur and happened to overhear a bunch of guys who were probably in their early to late 20s discussing the movie in the lobby. One of the guys was exasperated about portrayal of the lead and was wondering how erratic his characters was for which the others chimed in saying ‘ but the girls love only such guys not the nice ones, they don’t respect a nice guy but become a salve to such guys’. So you can gauge for yourself what kind of effect it is having on the young minds.

Super narrative I’m trying to find in the film? It’s in the film lol…i watch what he made …not what I think he’s made from his interviews …

Again, showing something is not endorsing something …if a women is shown attempting to mend a relationship because she is invested in it for whatever reason (love, kids), that’s not a sign of her weakness ….or subservience …showing this is not mysoginy particularly given the woman gets a very lengthy and elaborate scene to express her anguish …and even makes a decision to leave the relationship she’s given everything to

Social media is used by teens …responsibility lies with people sharing the content to know their audience …
