I was extremely excited for this movie but after watching it, I felt it was lacklustre.

The movie has it's own plus points but the minus points outweight it and don't think I could watch it again and again. Maybe for the acting only.

Good points:

Acting: All the actors have done justice to their roles. I thought Rashmika would be bad but she did a good job as Geetanjali. Ranbir was phenomenal and why would he not be? His character had the most to do in this movie where everyone else felt like a cameo. Special shout out to the actor who played his brother in law, I think he was fab. Anil did well but felt his character was weak, all he had to do was appear grumpy. Though Bobby did well, his role was more like the welcome sign outside houses - you never really see it once you enter the house. They did him dirty especially since his character had huge potentialsmiley21

Tripti did what was asked of her and just like Ranbir, she is an actress who does justice to her character. However, as a fan, majorly disappointed considering the movie would have been just the same with or without her character.

Direction: Gotta say, Vanga does have a gift in directing. Regardless of the story, the way he manages to hook the audience to the screen is interesting. He knows how to attract the masses. Some shots are great. For example, the post credit scene brings you back to your seat. He knows how to keep people engaged.

Minus Points:

Story: The story is not very creative. It is the most basic plot with lots of bullets, blood and semi nudity. I'd rather watch Game of Thrones where the plot is at least given priority. I mean yes, they had an interesting concept of dad and son but there was no explanation to it. It just felt meh.

Music: The music was a major let down. Kabir Singh songs are still in my mind yet I don't know any songs of this movie... Really disappointing.

Violence:I found the whole machine gun part cool but the violence in this movie was excessive. I appreciate that Vanga makes movies that are edgy and controversial but he forgets ethics. Though the violence worked in favour of the movie, not all of it was needed and the length of the movie could have been shortened by cutting some irrelevant scenes. There was only Ranbir Kapoor's character, violence and sex in this movie. I felt the story was compromised just because he wanted to show a bloodbath for that shock factor and although it has worked in making money, I wouldn't count this as an accomplishment.

Female characters: Uff, I was SO disappointed with the women in this movie and can't believe Tripti did such a faltu 15 min role smiley44I'm not asking for a female badass but what I detest is how Vanga portrays women as submissive wives or lover but tries to dilute this by having the main character try to preach about feminism. Ranbir's character clearly empowers his sisters but it felt insulting because they needed him to show their worth. And the same character then doesn't treat someone else's sister the same way he preaches about. Kinda felt like the men in this movie are giving women freedom as if it's theirs to give. Rashmika's character was alright but the end part completely butchered it.

As long as you see this movie by viewing Ranbir as a flawed character and not a hero, it should be fine. Movie isn't bad but it isn't the best either. Emotions, songs, quality story and feel were missing but the acting is top notch. Second part has potential to do better but hope they try to send a positive message.

Yes, I read most of the reviews and they say the same. On another note the plastic surgery part is comical smiley36smiley36

For those of you wondering Arjun Veilly was based off a legendary Sikh Hero! Interesting fact that I thought I would share with you all! Congrats on the success! Happy for my love Tripti. Although she deserved more notice!
