Waving white flag in advance, I come in peaceđłď¸
This one has a lot of nitpicking, if you loved the movie and can't handle it, mere thoughts hai yaar, kya karu? Lafda karna isn't my intention, honestly khud ko express karna was.
The movie honestly feels like Money heist, and if I think more about it, the Korean Money Heist, in which, the professor's vendetta against govt, business houses, banks was more personal.
In both money heists the professor falls for the lead negotiation officer (who has a daughter), though in Jawaan, he doesn't manufacture it. But, why would they go wife hunting right when they have a very important mission? Why involve another life, when Vikram was a clear example of how people use relatives as a weakness (m nt saying shaadi byaah mat karo, 10 mahine baad kar lete)
Next, as soon as Sanya's character's case was in light, why did no one think of investing her? It was a very specific case, she was in jail, with women, the prime suspects of the heists were women. Kisine connection nahi banaya. And Sanya wasn't even let out immediately after being proved innocent? Kyun?
Who else saw Irani being a traitor from six hundred miles away? Or maybe because I have been sort of immune to such twists at this point (jyaada Race franchise dekh Li Maine) but did they not thinking of planting one officer in Nayantara's team? Like itna ghamand? And yes, they are all prisoners, bhai, todha hi outsource kar leta.
When your daughter gets kidnapped, third richest arm manufacturer (kaun poti leke har quarter graph bana Raha bhagwaan jaane, but ok) you just pay and tell a govt servant to find him (with a spy, kudos for that thinking) and you go to kill the Man and his wife who is basically on your witch hunt. (Bas aise villains ke wajah se baaghi franchise chalti nahi, they send their bhaade ke tattoos who dont even confirm if tiger has died aur jaate hai final rites ke liye)
Nayantara just heard one story and gave up on her loyalty to her job, like her morals are that strong, I get it, but she didn't even say ki legally kuch karte hai yaa Aisa kuch. Itni jaldi toh sabjiwaala bhi nahi maanta bargaining ke time.
My point is, the story was way too convenient. And Ig convenience was what was needed to drive the story.
Tbh, I still like the Jawaan universe, but more than both the SRKs (and DP) I want to see the story of the six girls and the Agni officers. Like their past, we just saw glimpses on four of them. I said this before, and I say it again, a miniseries with each episode focusing on the past, Azad recruiting them (unless they like Nayan said ok in a heartbeat) training them and their lives after the mission(s) in the foreign city (because the farmer's daughter had a mother, Sanya haad colleagues who helped her, unka kya huaa, mujhe janana hai)
Another miniseries how after Kalee's court case and Vikram's death, the Agni officers each can have a episode (they work as bank security guards and stuff) till the point Juju comes into their life.
Also, after a point I was just laughing at Kalee (that car gas thing scared me a smidge though, ngl) Vijaysethupati in Farzi was brilliant, here he felt like an air head in some scenes. Writing failed him.
Oh, there was this reporter who just went Nayak vs Vikram Rathore and I love that woman, because she is just every Indian reporter who says that they are in warzone but is bhatkofying in malls and stuff.
The Jawaan girls need more limelight. Girija, Priyamani and Sanya are terrific performers who should have gotten more to do.
Again, honest review hai. It's a must need rn, with how govt isn't held accountable, how people just looking away and the end speech was gold, but I feel the movie tried to be too much and couldn't handle it at times, making stuff convinient (and hence boring for someone who has loved Money Heist)
