Reaching new levels of insensitivity

Adoption, abandonment and potential reconciliation are extremely nuanced and personal issues to be discussed in private first, in a safe and non-complicated setting. Why in the world would Anupamaa choose a birthday party to publicly make such a big reveal? And that too in front of her minor adopted daughter! It's extremely disrespectful towards everyone involved, especially Anuj, MD and CA.

Moreover, the show's makers don't seem to realise that just giving birth to someone doesn't by default create a mutual bond that can last through time. A mother's relationship with her child can change through the years based on context just like any other relationship can. It can be bitter, exploitative, abusive or otherwise unhealthy too, just like any other relationship. How can Anupamaa assume Anuj would welcome this revelation? How can she force him to respond in public to what could be terrible news from his perspective? Does she not know him at all? Does she not love him? I have a feeling she thinks only about herself and can't look at any issue from any other person's perspective, even if it is her life partner. That's the biggest weakness in her character. She thinks she's the main character (well, she is the main character in the serial 😭) and the world revolves around her.

The way they keep trying to exceptionalise motherhood while also being incredibly insensitive makes me wonder what in the world the writers are thinking! In the end nobody in the cast ends up looking good, coherent, relatable or sane.

Are the makers/writers intentionally trying to develop a disconnect between audience & the chr Anupamaa,if yes then they r doing a great job.

But,if not then the writers really need to reconsider what they're writing especially wrt Anu.

Yes it has been happening since a long time. Both Anujpamaa have been brought down so as to prop up the character which TamaShahi producers think should be the protagonist - Vanar.

This isn't a joke or any theory. But Tamashahi favourite is Vanar for whatsoever reason (despite knowing that 99.9% of viewers do not care for this character) and so the ones people actually want to watch the show for (Anupamaa and then Anuj) will be degraded to any extent possible.

If there was all those weeks of justifying Anupama as the rightful mother for CA instead of Maya, then why are Anuj's adoptive parents not given the same place, the people who raised him to be the man he is today (including the wealth they passed on to him that she enjoys)?

Just because they're dead doesn't mean she needs to find a replacement parent and use his loneliness as an excuse. Having a life partner is supposed to help you feel less lonely but she has a 100% record of putting him in difficult situations and messing up special occasions for him, that too in the guise of giving him the best birthday gift. She has zero sensitivity or even understanding of what he really wants or doesn't want. Not only should she have done this in private, but also done it 1:1, not with MD in front of him, making him further uncomfortable. I feel sick knowing she's going to put all her might into forcing him to accept her and reconcile, instead of feeling what he's going through and being a supportive spouse.

She's ruled by her savior complex and narcissism. She clearly learned nothing from the Maya episode which nearly destroyed her marriage.

And we still have people justifying Anupamaa’s insensitivity under the garb of care and love…why is there no objection to this trash?

That is because she never had to face consequences of her actions.

She never learnt to take ownership of her actions.
