The potential proof of Dhruv holding the knife has made every body believe, that he has killed Maharaj. And that's why they are not even thinking about some other scenario, infact they hadn't a proper investigation of king's death .

It's not just the knife, it's the King's dying confession too- he specifically named Dhruv as his killer.

The clothes are the only starting point for Tara- something she saw, and can work with. She knows nothing else of what happened (no one actually knows, and the only people who knew or can say something are already d e a d)
