i saw some video of his father directing him in his debut film. Maybe it was for his action scenes. i read stories abt how industry would laugh at how Veeru devgan wanted to launch his son n how Ajay proved him wrong.
Watever be the case, he got such a Big debut film only bcoz of the influence of his father. He was not commercial hero material at all.
Veeru didnt direct or produce Phool Aur Kaante. He was a stunt director.

Par Nepotism aur access mein difference kya hai? Nepotism means access n connections which give insiders an advantage over outsiders only. Some use their connections well or get lucky. Kuch logon ko success baad mein mila iska matlab yeh nahi ki woh insider nahi hai.
Aur connections use karne mein bhi galat kya hai?
Wont Kangana Ranaut use her connections to launch her child tomorrow like outsider SRK is launching his daughter today?
Difference nepo kids get jobs/roles because they're friends with someone. Access means you know who to approach so you can actually get an audition instead of being ignored. I don't believe the thousands who stand in line only to get turned away are talentless. They just don't have access.
But nepotism goes further than a chance to show your talent to the right people.
I'm not even against nepotism. Humans are pack animals. I, mine will always come first. My complaint is about Anupama equating access with nepotism in order to downplay Vicky's success and paint nepo babies privilege in a milder light.

Whoever is putting money is taking the risk n nobody puts money on someone for charity in the industry. It is a business after all.
Aur baat talent ki hai. Toh Naa hi saare outsiders Talented hai aur Naa hi saare insiders Talentless.
Ranveer koi kam Talented nahi hai Vicky se.
Par haan dono hi Sidharth Malhotra se Talented hai. Aur Sidharth Malhotra ko Vicky Kaushal se better launch mila hai. Par iska matlab ye nahi hai ki Vicky insider nahi hai.
Luck bhi depend karta hai success k liye.

Just out of curiosity how lucky or unlucky do you consider Jahnvi or Ananya?

None of what you said here was the point. I'm not even arguing nepotism is wrong.
What is completely wrong is using someone who worked hard for his success, and yes, used his access, to minimize nepo privilege. And to minimize his own success.

Mujhe toh dono hi pasand hai 😆
Ab kahan paida hona hai yeh Jahnvi or Ananya ne thodi decide kiya hai. Toh unko blame kyun kiya jaa raha hai.
They are lucky bcoz Sridevi worked her butt off to make her kids life easy. So did Chunky. Like all parents do. Just like SRK is making life of Suhana easy.
Agree with you on this.
Vicky's success is definitely more hard earned than other nepo kids - he had to prove himself in smaller movies / side roles in bigger movies to reach his current stardom.
But then the same case can be made by comparing a kid of a big superstar like Shahrukh / Aamir (or the owner of big production house like Yashraj) vs that of a comparatively smaller star / smaller director. The latter would have to work that much harder to land a role. And these kids would be much better off compared to kids of people working on technical side (like action director, choreographer, cameraman). It's a gradient. And if you compare that privilege/ access to an absolute outsider, I think the difference is still stark. If I have to group stars, I would also club Vicky with Ranbir and not Karthik Aaryan while acknowledging that he had to work hard.

You can fail once, twice, and hit jackpot on the third time.
Humare liye woh privileged honge. Aur hum kisi aur ko privileged dikhenge. Koi Pretty privileged hai. Toh koi Miss World beauty queen privileged hai. Koi fairskin privileged hai. Koi Star boyfriend privileged. Koi English medium big city privileged hai.
Dusron ki kush naseeb se jalne se kuch nahi hoga na hone wala hai. Vaise bhi konsa Govt job hai sabko haq hai kisko unke films pe lena hai aur na lena😆
