What a fun film!! Alia was presented so beautifully... that Rani Rani bgm and shots of Alia, I was like whoa!! She's so lucky she has Karan Johar.

The movie was quite enjoyable. So many good social messages without being too preachy. Its entertainment quotient was high throughout. The song and dance looked great. What sets, what production values!

Tum kya mile was stunning on the big screen, so was the Dola Re performance. I got goosebumps. Ranveer was also presented well.

Jaya Bachchan was just give a one-note role; she was not given any variation. But she still managed to shine, because well, she is Jaya Bachchan! Her screen presence was towering, despite her height and limited dialogue.

I ended up LOVING the movie. Which is a big thing considering I truly cannot stand KJo lol. But this movie belonged to Ranveer from start to end. Aloo was decent, she played her role well, and she looked stunning in those sarees that changed every 2 seconds. I want her whole wardrobe! Whoever thought that the audiences want hyper realistic movies were wrong, we just want to be entertained and this was pure entertainment from start to finish!

I actually felt Ranveer was over the top and some of his "bad English" lines were overdone and stopped being funny after a point. But largely he fit well into the film's theme, which was corny, loud and blingy, so it was not a problem. Otherwise it's not some great performance or anything.

Ranveer's character saved it.

I disagree about it being too preachy. It was quite on your face preachy. Every social issues were incorporated from blaming women's clothes to gender neeutralism to racism to domestic violence to equality and am quite sure am missing many more.

Some bits were really funny. But all in all one time watch for me. My time went well but I was not wowed.

Oh and while Alia looked stunning, I am just so bored with her monotonous acting that I didnt find her exceptionally well.
