Part 4:

Whirlpool of emotions swirling in his mind.

She felt his piercing looks burn her back but she couldn’t afford to look back.

His heart is begging for one last glance and praying for her to turn once.

She know if she looked back in a jiffy she will be in his arms and pouring her heart out. No …. I don’t deserve him…. he deserve someone better.

She chanted this continuously and left from the room .

He stood there and looking at the way she disappeared until his eyes become weary and left to his cabin.

Abhi came to the hall with offer letter shocked by seeing the room empty and went to check on Dev’s room. Abhi got startled by the feeble form of dev leaning back on his chair eyes closed and little to no movement. For a second he got terrified by his shallow breathing and touched his shoulder very gently.

Dev who got back by the touch opened his eyes and realised Abhi’s state. He composed himself and stood there and tried to be strong but surprised by Abhi’s tight hug. Both are being in hug for some time. No one came out and both gaining the strength that they needed at this point of time. Dev was the first one to come out and smiled at Abhi.

Bhai vo PA …

Dev: ek minut and he dailed Kanika and asked her to come.

Kanika is my PA from today and she will mange all my schedules , deals and meetings.

Abhi looked suspicious but dev said that Kanika is my college friend ,old loyal employee and like family so we don’t need any new person.

Dev left from there making Abhi more suspicious.

After meeting her today coincidentally made him think rationally and decided to leave everything upon destiny. He realised that If they are meant to be together , if they are destined no one can stop them unite.He doesn’t want to loose the hope .he reminded peer baba words and decided to trust the god and his love.the word love it gave him the much needed strength.

He slowly gained the confidence back and engaged in life again.

Abhi is now confidant that something is there between Vidhi and dev. But he is unable to believe that dev rejected to oppoint Vidhi and she also being silent after knowing that she got almost oppointed and cancelled at the last minute. He is mad to understand the situation and He shared all these detailes with Satya and both confused by the happenings. He didn’t talked about Dev’s state with Satya to not scare her. But he really got terrified by that sight and he determined to do something for his brother. He tried to get the detailes about Vidhi but he couldn’t.the contact number which mentioned in the form is now not available and there is no single trace of her.

Days are passing but the restlessness is not leaving dev after their intimate/raw encounter. He is trying to control himself by falsely convincing himself that he left everything on god but only he knows how many times he about to call raj and stopped in last second with a heart of stone to enquire about vidhi’s whereabouts. day by day he is becoming impatient and the need to see her is growing stronger. He is getting the flashes of their moments and those made him go crazy and his sleepless nights are back again to feel pity on him. his mind is screaming at him to go and find her but his heart yearned for her happiness.his heart reminded his vow to respect her decision. this become his daily routine and one night being tired by juggling between mind and heart he decided to work. He finished preparing all slides for the project deal that he is going to attend in few days. He found some files that needed his signatures immediately. he searched for glasses and pen . After a lot of mess he found pen but he didn’t find glasses . He decided to sign anyway as it’s approved by Kanika. He about to sign….

Dev looked confused , stood and turned to the voice

Koun businessman aisa bina padhe sign karta hai…. and raised her brow…

Dev: Vidhi……tum yaha .. our mere table ke pass kya kar rahe ho …

Isse dundh rahe the aap… asked while playing with his glasses.

Dev: mera glasses… kab se dundh raha hu main. Mil hi nahi raha hai.. dedo mujhe..

Vidhi came near him and took the file from him and sat on bed. Glasses dundh rahe the … and she wore the glasses and pretend to read the file.the glasses are too big for her so keep on falling and she is correcting with finger.

Dev felt that cute and adoring her. When she looked up by feeling his stare dev started to laugh… she felt annoyed , made faces and raised her brow and threatened with eyes and finally pouted to stop him tease.

Dev controlled and said sorry .. sorry .. but that big glasses… your tiny face … you are too cute Vidhi..and started to laugh again and about to go to her

Abhi came to the room and

Bhai… aap ithne raat ko kisse bath kar rahe the..

Dev looked around the room and sighed…

Abhi: saw some files on bed and table and some on floor. He know dev is very organised.. bhai aap theek tho hai… and whispered to himself ho kya gaya hai bhai ko.. kabhi bhai ka room ithna messy nahi dekha maine..

Dev looked confused..

Abhi: I mean ithni raat ko koun files dekhta hai and he took the files from floor and cleared the mess.

Dev remained silent by realising his dream. Soon composed and said kuch nahi abhi yeh kuch files mein sign Karna jaroori hai. Vo ek important deal hai teen din baad usi se related hai.

Abhi: ok bhai .. take care .. good night and left but he clearly heard dev talking and laughing..

He is confused and thought kuch tho bhai chupa raha hai par kya?

Dev breath a sigh of relief and laughed heartily unable to forget her cute face and her antics . He forgot all emotional turmoil that he is facing from few days and slept peacefully.

After couple of days dev joined Abhi and Satya at breakfast and informed that he finalised the deal about radio channel with star agency and they are starting the work today. He is very happy about this because he is doing this for passion not for money and it will help the employes of defunct radio company to not loose the job.

They wished him and felt happy for him.

Dev our Kanika reached star agency and Kanika said dev I have to fill in some detailes I will join you in sometime.

Someone showed him the way to the presentation room. Everything is ready but no one came till now. Dev had a seat and engrossed in the thoughts of Vidhi.

Their first meeting, that days happenings,her glowing under the moon , suddenly he felt the projection light is on and Vidhi entered the room hurriedly. He just looking on and adoring her still being in dream.

Vidhi saw dev in the presentation room and his dreamy stare… she baffled and pulled her ear while talking her self focus Vidhi… focus..yaha koi nahi hai…. abhi abhi noukari lagi hai.. pehle kam karo sapne baad mein. She is arranging all files at respective places and came opposite to dev. She just looked up with her one eye closed like not wanting to know she is dreaming again .. and find dev staring at her . She squeezed her eyes and saw him stare at her with his enchanting smile.she got annoyed and said kyon has rahe hai aap.. ha kyon... pehle aap mere peeche pade huye hai.. jaha bhi jata hu bas aap hi dikh rahe hai our upar mujh pe has rahe ho .. aap..

Dev : annoyed and said main.. main tumhara peecha kar raha hu.. nahi tum… tum aati ho har baar mere samne.. kabhi meeting ke beech… kabhi raste mein.. kabhi mere room mein…mujhe pareshan hona chahiye tumhe nahi.. pata hai kitne baar embarass hona pada mujhe employees ke saamne ..and he stood …

Vidhi nodded her head with confusion and thought mere sapne mein aakar mujhe hi vo kaise taane de sakte hai.. and immediately pulled her ear and said nayi nayi aisa kuch bhi nahi ho raha hai.. yaha koi nahi hai..

after seeing her react dev in dilemma that she is real or his illusion. He thought to touch her to test that if she vanishes then it’s a dream . He about to go close to her….

Vidhi confused by his move and said aap yeh kya kar rahe hai…..vahi par rukiye…

Dev blinked his eyes to assure her and came near her and about to touch her..

Kanika came and called dev….. and gave a look like what’s happening?

Dev saw Kanika and again at Vidhi and realised that she is real and took his hand back and turned to Kanika again and asked did you finished the paper work?

Kanika: ya, she showed the file and said .. I will handover this to manager and then we will start the meeting and she left…

Both eyes met once again and both looked akward ,tensed and made the distance .after lot of self talk both looked at each other and laughed out by remembering their banter…..

The same time Amba entered the room and saw dev laughing and lost in him vidhi’s face is not visible to her because of projector light. Dev shocked by seeing Amba and Soon Kanika and Yogesh joined them . All the employes who involved in project came and presentation started. Dev is thinking that how Amba and Yogesh are here but he is waiting patiently to not disturb the presentation. Kanika presented the slides prepared by dev and Amba’s team clarifying the doubts from her.Dev realised that Vidhi joined star agency and that too appointed for this project and thought don’t know what future holds. He turned to see her and find Yogesh staring at her .

He got hell angry and doubted Yogesh intentions.

He know about Yogesh as he, Kanika , Amba and Yogesh are from same college as they are his juniors. When the dispute happened between Amba and dev Kanika supported dev and Yogesh is with Amba.Kanika broke the relationship with Yogesh he felt bad about that but he is happy that she got saved from a jerk like Yogesh.He has to behave well with Amba because of Chitra but he can’t tolerate Yogesh…

Dev was getting angry by the sight infront of him and spitting fires through his eyes. If looks can kill Yogesh will be dead by now.

Kanika saw dev get getting anger at Yogesh and tapped on his hand. Dev composed and tried to concentrate on presentation.

Vidhi is saving the notes of presentation and observing dev with corner of eyes. She saw him angry and thought why he is indifferent with her boss. She find Amba staring at dev again and got jealous. She couldn’t understand what’s happening ..before presentation also her boss staring dev and he is shocked and uncomfortable by her presence. May be she is Dev’s ex her mind hinted as how her boss is scanning dev with her x-ray eyes… shaked by this thought Vidhi become sad and thought did he really had some one in his life .. of course may be his ex .. she thought her boss also single and dev also single….it means they had the chance to…

Her head is spinning with thoughts and she shouted NO……

Everyone got silent by her shout and dev got worried for her.

Yogesh: kya bathamizi hai vidhi Sharma.. achanak aisa chillana vo bhi meeting ke beech. Kisne select Kia tha aise unprofessional logon ko…

Dev angered by Yogesh shouting at her and finally he couldn’t control and shouted Yogesh….

Amba knows Dev’s anger she stood and said that Yogesh is the CEO of the company and these employees are my team.

Dev looked confused …

Amba: jis star agency ke sath tumne deal final Kia hai ab vo Mehta group of industries ka hissa hai.

Dev stood silent.

Amba came to him and said come with me dev.. I will explain everything.

Guys.. excuse us… she left and dev followed her to not create any issue there.

Amba took dev to her cabin…

Dev : Amba.. kyon kar rahe ho yeh sab. Yeh sab karke kya hasil karogi tum..

Amba: dev dev.. kyon ithna gussa ho rahe ho tum.. main tumhara help Karna chahti Hu.. and she went near him. Dev felt akward and looked at the door with fear that any one might come but he failed to notice a pair of eyes peeking into the room.

Amba walked closure to him with an urge and wrapped her hands around his neck and said yeh gussa sab chodo dev.. sath mein time mila tho hamare baare mein bath karte hai na..

he is shocked and felt akward and removed her hands and said koi.. koi dekh lega.. yeh kya kar rahi ho tum.. office hai.. tumhara cabin hai..

Amba: dev.. kab tak kab tak aisa rahega tum.. log kya sochte hai yeh parva hai tumhe par mera kya? Meri feelings ka kya? Agar feelings sache hote tho yeh office .. yeh log.. yeh duniya.. kisi ka khayal nahi aayega.. kuch manya nahi rahega uss insan ke alava jisse ham dil se chahte hai.

Dev realised the reality of her words and he recalled the time he and Vidhi are in Raj’s house and interview room . he didn’t felt any fear or akward ness at that time not even for a second. Amba’s words are ringing in his ears again again….feelings sache hote… kisi ka khayal nahi aayega.. koi manya nahi rahega uss insan ke alava… He He realised that he fell for Vidhi .. he fell harder for Vidhi.. he never felt wrong about what they shared instead He cherished each and every moment they spent.

While he is in this thoughts and gave deaf ears to Amba.

Amba held his hands and said batao dev tumhe mera parva nahi hai.. tumhe mera feelings nahi matter karta hai.. she held his coat and said jo bhi hamara beech tha vo sach tha dev our bahut khoob Surat tha.. kuch bhi nahi badla hai dev..main aaj bhi vahi khadi hu dev jaha ham akhri baar mile the .. our vaha khade tumhara intezar kar raha hu main..dev batao kab khatam hoga mera yeh intezar batao dev..and she pulled him and kept her head on his chest.

Dev got back from his thoughts by her pull and realised the happenings and looked at the door to find Vidhi stood like statue…

He detached Amba and said yeh galat hai Amba .. I am sorry .. par yeh galat hai and left hurriedly to see Vidhi..

Vidhi left from there with a disturbed mind and she don’t know where she is going.

Dev who came for Vidhi missed her and went in direction that his sense is indicating to check on her… he find her near a huddle room and after seeing him she went inside and tried to close but dev managed to enter and opened the door.

Vidhi is in a state of dilemma and she thought Vidhi you may not strong but you are not weak too. Don’t fall weak this time, get a grip on your self and be in your senses.

Dev understood that she heard the conversation by seeing her state and said.. Vidhi tumne jo dekha aisa kuch bhi nahi hai..

vidhi: kyon explain kar rahe ho aap mujhe yeh sab..

Dev: nahi vidhi..main explain nahi kar raha hu explain karne ke liye aisa kuch tha hi nahi…

Main bas kaha raha hu ki tumne jo soch rahe hai na yeh sab dekh ke …vaisa kuch bhi nahi hai..

Vidhi: ek minut .. main kyon sochungi aapke baare mein.. koun hai aap ? Our kya hai hamare beech ? Koi sach nahi hai koi khubsurat rishta nahi hai hamare beech tho kyon aap mujhe yeh sab explain kar rahe hai.. kuch nahi tha hamare beech jayiye yaha se..

Dev: vidhi .. r u jealous.. he realised and it gave him the strength back. Tum jealous ho vidhi…

Vidhi: composed and determined to not fall weak and said main jealous vo bhi aap keliye.. koun hai aap mere our…

Dev : got angered by not accepting her feeling he held her shoulders firmly and asked main koun hu.. kuch nahi hai hamare beech .. tho kyon har vakt mere baare mein soch rahe ho tum…

Vidhi: nahi…aapko koi galat fermi hogaya hoga ..main kyon sochungi aapke baare mein..

Dev: acha .. tho vo kya tha jo subah kaan keech keech ke khud ko ye yakeen dila raha tha ki vaha maini nahi hu..bolo vo kya tha..

Vidhi just ignored him by not able to answer..

as how their sudden contact had made her felt so good because only she knew how she had spent these past days in thoughts of him and how much she craved for him.. his touch….his hug and mostly the sukoon she will get by being with him.

Dev:Our kya kaha ….kuch nahi hai hamare beech mein … kuch sach nahi hai ..

Jo tumhari hoton ki narmi ka ehsaas abhi bhi mere hotin pe hai kya vo sach nahi tha

Vo ehsaas jo bina dekhe hamari moujudagi ka bayan karte hai kya vo sach nahi tha

Vah har ek lamha jab ham ek dusre ki bahon mein pigalte rahe .. kya vo sach nahi tha..

kya vo har ek pal ham ek dusre ke saath bithaye vo khubsurat nahi tha..

Vidhi: yeh sab bathe aap ab mujhse kyon kar rahe ho… mujhe in sab bathon se koi fark nahi padta ….

Dev: tumhe farak pad raha hai vidhi…..

Vidhi: nahi and she tilted her head to other side..

Dev got mad by thinking about her guts to lie and his inability to not control his feelings like her and he pinned her to the wall and whispered near her face.. tumhe sach mein farak nahi pad raha hai .. then why whenever I am near you,your heart beat will raise, why your eyes will sparkle with passion, why your body will shiver with desperation and why every part of your body is begging for my attention.why.. why.. koi jawab hai tumhare pass?

Vidhi: for her His hold is strong enough to inflict the pain and rash but the pain that surfacing in his eyes is more painful for her. His hold is getting stronger by each question and she is trying hard to not to spill the tears.she know it will broke brutally an already broken man . She never expected to see him like this broken. She felt guilty to instigate him to this length.

Dev : become impatient by her ignorance and asked bolo Vidhi .. ab kyon chup ho tum.. iska matlab tumhe farak pad raha hai na .. admit it Vidhi..

Vidhi: pushed him gently to make distance as the proximity is making her crazy ,she is falling weak with each passing moment but she don’t want to fall weak and said loud enough to him ..

ha.. mujhe farak pad raha hai.. ha .. main jealous huyi thi.. par vo isiliye ki..

I am insanely and irresistibly attracted towards you physically and kept her palm in his chest.

Dev realised her act of play with her quivering voice and whispered…..yes you are right we are equally attracted towards each other but it’s not the entire truth and I want only truth. Mujhe pura sach janna hai vidhi batao.. and again he held her shoulders while seeing into her eyes deeply and it caused her hiss and her eyes started to well up.

Dev who taken back by her reaction and the tear started to form infront of his eyes, he came to senses and left her and shut his clouded eyes with pain and shame. He couldn’t see into her eyes because of shame and left from there before whispering I am sorry!!!

Ps:Amba, Chitra,Dev relation is same as show but slight changes will be there in their character growth as smart and dumb dev (according to situations 🤣🤣🤣), sensible Chitra and non evil Amba.

Loved this through and through... It was filled with beautiful subtle moments be it Abhi caring for Dev or Dev dreaming of Vidhi or Dev realising his feelings for her... All were so lively but the best one for me has to be both Dev and Vidhi thinking they are dreaming when they saw each other in reality.

Nice part 4. Good to see progress in ViDev's love story. Dev has realised his love for vidhi but she isn't ready to accept that yet. Looking forward to next part. 😳
