They could have easily promoted this show as a new show with a new name. But they didn't want to lose the built-in UD audience. From what I have seen, the show will have zero to little connection to season 2.

The show has new leads, new parents, etc. Ekam's personality is different - more aggressive. Nehmat will be typical crying maaaaaaa. Don't be surprised when they start revealing the backstories for nehmat-ekam-harleen to the new generation, the stories are completely different from season 2.

In my opinion, the basic story is still about two sisters fighting for the same person. The older second-generation characters, their equations, and how the love triangle between the daughters affects the relationships of the parents are what's new.

The S2 story was a mess, with Harleen taking on Naaz's role and her character becoming a criminal overnight.

Harleen is giving step daughter treatment to her own daughter. Aasmaa will go to India and will bond with Nehmat and Ekam. That will give Harleen one more reason to hate Nehmat. Like Virks, Armaan's family don't want him to go to Canada. They are even re-creating the competitions similar to the ones Tejo and Jasmine participated in.

I don't think Harleen will choose Alia over Aasmaa. Also, Armaan's family will not like Aliya, just as Virks hated Jasmine 🤣
