I think Aamir already tried ? And SRK with almost negligible comments got his family into trouble. Why are we expecting them to take stand after all that ? They are also humans.

The situation in the country is beyond control now. Doesn’t matter if anyone from the title comments or not, EVERY SINGLE SANE person is aware of it, feeling the pain. But nothing can happen as long as there are enough illiteracy, poverty and scope for politicians to buy votes in exchange of a free lunch or dinner.

Thanks a lot, Savita, for letting me/us know what Ashutosh said to this woman.

As for SRK, I want to add that he has the responsability for not only a family (who also works in the business partly profiting from his position in the industry), but also for hundreds of people working in his three companies (RCE production cum distribution, RCE VFX, RCE Colours) and the IPL franchise...

He has to do more responsible things than playing 'hero' in real life...he has to be one...and an extremely cautious and silent one in the current antidemocratic and violent climate in Indian politics and society.

I prefer that he speaks through his work like some dialogues and plot points in Pathaan...they say what he wants to forward as opinion...

I dont understand this obsession with wanting celebs to talk about all this (Not talking just about this post, there have been others before). What will happen if they do? Will the govt be like, omgg SRK/Aamir said this, now we must change for the better and reflect on our behaviour?

No. They will just put his son behind the bars again. Will anyone from IF go to save his family then?

Saaf baat hai, everyone will think about their safety and their family's safety first. Which is right! Coz when it backfires on them (and I say 'when', not if), then no one will come to save them.

The last time Rihaana, a much bigger name said, "we should talk about this" (about the internet shut down, mind you, not even the farm bills) Aap ki Adalat dude said, humara waalon toh Rihaana aur Mia Khalifa ka naam bhi pata nahi hogi, aisi bholi bhaali toh country hai.

If someone will say something, big names, especially, the news anchors will just spend the hours talking about their WhatsApp chats.

But in all seriousness, it's super awesome of Ashutosh to say the poem and the people who are actually to be questioned about this.

People expect them to speak up because they have a strong reach & they too are part of society. Those people are idiots because Bollywood is absolutely spineless unlike their peers from other industries including athletes from this very country. But it wasn't always so. Indira Gandhi was a bigger dictator than Modi will ever be & the biggest stars of that time from Kishore Kumar, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar to directors like Hrishikesh Mukherjee fearlessly spoke up against the Emergency when they could be put in Jail without a trial.

So stop putting these mere "Actors" on a pedestal & the celebrity worshipping. Especially calling them "Outspoken" or expecting any sort of Social heroics from them. One phone call & they'll go running to Delhi or doing voice overs for the very thing you stand against. The excuses are many, everybody has a family....but many have spoken against injustices with much less resources & still are.

The thing is Ashutosh didn't say utter a thing against any political party; he spread a message of peace and harmony. I'm sure any of the big celebrities can afford to do that. But they're too chicken shit and selfish to do that.
